Did you just wrap up a lot of Brussels sprouts that year?

For some gifts that was close :D, it's getting the balance just right to be just humorous and embarrassing enough to solicit a smile or blush but not so much to cause real problems - the kids are there too.

Been collecting the codes that are printed in my red top over the year and now have over a hundred quid stashed ready to help with the Christmas load. :)

Every 28 codes are worth £5.

There's always the chance of winning one of the raffles as well.

Got the Xmas tree and decorations down from the loft this morning. White and blue LED lights powered up first time. :)

Spent a pleasant hour or so with the OH putting on all the silver tinsel, ball chains, baubles and ornaments to complete our "Ice Tree"

Got some of the old fashioned bulb fairy lights to go up in the hall if I can get them working.

Unbelievable: The first set of fairy lights, about 25 screw-in bulbs made of two older sets, for the hall worked first time. That normally never happens.

40 bulb set will be more difficult as it didn't work last Xmas. I have a voltage tracing tool that looks like a screwdriver but has a battery and LED inside that indicates mains. I'll trace down the wires 'til the voltage goes missing. Then replace the bulb(s).

Our 4 year old lights worked straight away, no messing about, which is unusual.

I'm starting to wonder if 'her indoors' bought a new set and put them into the old box :D

You usually find the OH is usually one step ahead when it comes to most things around the home.:D

All Christmas shopping done and dusted thank goodness although this Christmas will be for myself very much mixed emotions as this will be the last year that our eldest is in the house but saying that ask his little brother and this will be more than likely the best Christmas ever LOL due to him finally getting his big brother's room next March/April. TBH I can't blame him as his room is rather small for him now but served it's purpose in giving him his space, he just needs a bit more now.

Got one of the nice HMRC letters - they owe me. Went to the P800 site to claim refund - it's not working.
