He played for Seville iirc, the Madrid full back is on a two year loan which is what I don't understand most

I think the commentators have got it right, Liverpool lack height, so crosses won't (or shouldn't) hurt city. Liverpool's best chance came from playing it on the ground (re sturridge).

There is an option to buy presumably at any time but it is a two year loan deal

Never seen a loan deal like that before, presumably there's a hefty loan fee involved as well
