I wonder why Boxnation was happy to be on extra add on channel and Premier Sports wanted to be on XL pack, I suppose XL would have given them a much bigger income?

I suppose we will not get this channel in the foreseeable future?

I worry that we might lose SKY channels again at renewal time as the owner of Liberty Global dislikes News Corp:(

Some how l cannot see the new group losing Sky channels as this would hurt Sky quite considerably in the pocket and l cannot see Scrooge liking that too much.

Their German operation carries Sky channels. In fact if you look at their website the Sky brand is plastered all over it. The Irish Upc website actually shows which Sky channels they carry in a separate category. I think it's fair to say they recognise the value of Sky channels.

Should not admit it but used file sharing to watch my favourite SKY one shows when we lost the channel through the carriage dispute:(

I was with Sky at the time, paying full whack to watch Lost, whilst my friend complained to Virgin (or whatever they were called then), and got Sky Sports for free as compensation - a discount he still enjoys! If you know how to negotiate you shouldn't fear losing the Sky channels - it's an opportunity!

No he doesn't, that's just media hype - I'm sure I've read somewhere this week where LGI's CEO comments that various parts of LGI have good and productive relationships with News Corp.

Given the content which News Corp either make or owe rights to, that's not surprising and is pretty sensible.

Was' nt a nine year deal to carry Sky's non premium channels signed as part of the deal to sell VM TV channels to sky a few years ago. So I cannot see them going anywhere soon.
