In what way? If anything the recent code release moved Virgin Media's TiVo closer to the US one, not further away.

Having rights to do things with content is not the same as the box not being able to do it.

I agree that Suggestions is now no longer useful to use, but the the UI has moved closed to the US spec, more HD menus and faster operation

How slow did it used to be then? When I press home or my shows I get a black screen for about 5 seconds.

If you haven't reset your TiVo recently, do so and you will likely see some improvement.

TBF after the update i'm finding the tivo very sluggish, the UI is really nice but is ruined by being very sluggish. Hopefully they'll sort the clinks out soon.

Virgin Media did remove BBC Red Button 2 from Virgin Channel 992 last Sunday night.

great analogy!, it places a sky controlled equipment in house where there is no satellite so can be built on as another route to market.

They have content as well which is why VM cant go down this route

Virgin Media in broadband fightback

Given what BT spent in order to drive their broadband subs, and that Sky matched that offer, I'd say managing a 6 figure increase in broadband subs represents a decent effort for Virgin.

Couldn't agree more it offers pay TV with no long term contracts and negates the need for a satellite dish.
