And the Competition Commision must be utterly blind and stupid :dozey: if they cannot see that Sky will continue to open their huge chequebook and outbid anybody else and that it will still have a unfair monopoly over films for the forseeable future.:(

I honestly don't understand why Sky buy things like this. I appreciate having a vast library of films is beneficial as there will be loads that you have never seen, however with Harry Potter there can't be many people who have not seen them so can't work out why this would entice customers to take Sky services?

Truthfully I've only ever watched the first one in its entirety.

But would it make you take skyservices or upgrade to movies?

That's the question for me?

I'm not at the stereotypical Harry Potter age and already sub to Sky Movies however I'm sure there are plenty of parents out there whose kids haven't seen the full collection who may upgrade for the Christmas period it's also worth noting the deal probably includes NowTV also which extends its reach to non pay TV customers.

I think anyone would have to be insane to switch providers over a single film. It's the combination of many big name films which will get more people on board in my opinion.

If for example Sky had exclusive rights for: Bond, Lord of the Rings, Toy Story, Star Wars, Harry Potter, the Matrix & Pirates of the Carribean all available in HD and On Demand. That's a huge saving over buying the Blu Ray box sets and something that wouldn't be available elsewhere! :)

Good News and Bad News about Sky1 +1 appeared online.

DS Forum is reporting that Sky1 +1 will launch on Sky Channel 172 on Thursday 12 November.

But it will not be able to broadcast The Simpsons.
