He has been wearing a variety of Greek flag ties, for a month or so now, during the visit of the South Koreans, Climate change etc.

My understanding is that he will ditch the Scottish kilt for

Given talking to those or Sunak, I know what most would prefer! ;)

They will hang on to the bitter end imho but sometimes doing that just prolongs the inevitable electoral hammering that is coming their way.

Reform UK doing well, ahead of the Liberal Democrats now. But the Conservatives have some great all-weather support, as a trip to Wokingham would no doubt illustrate.

As much as I don't support Reform UK, they'll get zero MPs. Such is our bonkers electoral system.

Apparently when his late lamented mother did this sort of thing it was known as ‘brooch diplomacy’. You can communicate acres of displeasure or signal support with a carefully chosen brooch. Charlie doesn’t have that option, so ties and hankies will have to do.

In that case, and by that reckoning, the Lib-Dems won't get a seat either.

The Liberal Democrats will benefit from tactical voting in a way that Reform UK currently don't.

Because they got elected for 5 years ... :dozey:

Governments dont generally call elections when/if they are doing poorly in polls (which is not exactly a rare occurance for Labour or Conservatives).
