Could be an interesting step 1080p compatible.

In case anyone has not seen, the first episode of Fortitude is being shown on Youtube.

Look forward to seeing the specs of the new box, but more importantly, the price!

The Roku 1 which the Now TV box is based upon is expected to be discontinued in 2015.It would make sense for the current Now TV box to be discontinued at the same time. I expect it would be replaced by the Roku 2 or Roku 3. The Roku 2 has a composite output so would work better as a replacement for the current box.

The nowtv box is based on the ROKU lte not the Roku1 mate, the ROKU1 is far more superior than the lte it offers 180p where as i believe the LTE only offers 720p?
I think the ROKU LTE has already been discontinued.

Sorry, yes it's not the Roku 1 but the Roku LT (don't think there's an LTE) and indeed it looks like it has been discontinued. The LT only has 720P.
I would expect the new Now TV box to be in black. Sky Germany offers a rebadged Roku 3 box. (Identified as it has ethernet, USB, and micro SD card) so perhaps the UK will get this box too? http://www.sky.de/web/cms/de/kundenc...ox&shurl=tvbox

I would be interested in the Now TV box if either it provided on demand programmes from Sky Atlantic and retained them for quite a long period (instead of deleting them suddenly on bloc) or alternatively if it had a recorder with it. I don't intend ever to go back to watching live programmes to Sky's schedules with interminable adverts.

Sky could actually make quite a lot of money out of this if they stopped and thought about this from the consumer's point of view.

This is a good thing and will help with one of OLD BOY's (justified) complaints

we’ll extend our licence period so they can watch for longer,”
Also, OLD BOY, if you watch the day after the broadcast, there are no adverts. Well, except for Sky Atlantic shows; they have an Atlantic promo in the middle of the show. They must think Sky Atlantic viewers are a bit thick and need to be reminded what channel the show is on! Fortunately it only lasts a few seconds

Thanks for that, Passingbat. Unfortunately, I watch TV as and when I can, so scheduled broadcasts are not really good for me. As such, even Catch Up, with its 7 day lifetime, is of limited use to my family.

If Sky added material for up to a year (with a clear 'view by' date), I would be sorely tempted to get a Now TV box.

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services

Sky/Now TV catch up is mostly 30 days , box sets are generally 3 months to several years.
