Yes to be fair, but I do suspect what they really wanted was it to be subscription only like on Satellite, so the majority of the credit is to VM as far as I can see....

I didn't doubt VM for a second. Look at all the great channels and deals they got that were announced at the last minute.

Also don't forget VM did get Setanta and ESPN included with XL. So was only natural they would try to get the same deal for BT Sport.
