Australia are awful. If they don't improve over the winter i might put a bit of money on a 5-0 whitewash for the ashes next summer. There are a lot of very average players in the Aussie squad, much like England in the past.

Kevin Pietersen 'left out' of England's World Twenty20 squad.

Kevin Pietersen is understood to have been left out of England's 30-man squad for the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka.
The batsman, 32, quit limited-overs internationals in May after an impasse with the England & Wales Cricket Board, only to hint at a U-turn last week.

Alastair Cook ton gives England control.

Quote:

Alastair Cook's unbeaten century helped England dominate the opening day of the first Test against South Africa at The Oval.

The vice-captain's untroubled 114 not out saw England reach 267-3 by the close, with Jonathan Trott (71) and Kevin Pietersen (42) also in the runs on a miserable day for the tourists.

However, but for Cook and Trott's graft, England might not be in such a commanding position on the first evening of a three-Test series which will determine the best team in the world.
