Re: What are you reading?
Just started 'Dreadfulwater' (yes that's how it's written) by Thomas King.
Apparently it's book one in in an 8 (or 9 ) book series, I may have to go searching ;) |
Re: What are you reading?
Finally got round to starting Neal Asher - Dark Diamond (cheers Hugh)
On the agenda after that is probably a revisit to 'The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant', mentioned by someone on here a while ago. Read them years ago and recently found them (cough) online as epubs. |
Re: What are you reading?
I read the BBC news site (most days).

Re: What are you reading?
Feel I'm struggling with The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, I was looking forward to a re-reading but don't think my head is in the right frame of mind for a long saga. I may just take it in stages between other books . . .
. . which leads me into the current book, Joe Abercrombie - The Blade Itself (1st book of the 'First Law' trilogy) |
Re: What are you reading?
Just burnt through the "The Lost Fleet" series (6 books) by Jack Campbell - easy reading…
Service Model by Adrian Tchaikovsky - had to push myself through the first couple of chapters, then got into it, and enjoyed it by the end. Now reading The Mortons by Justine Larbalestier & Scott Westerfeld - really liking it. |
Re: What are you reading?
yeah, Service Model was a slow starter but good finisher

Re: What are you reading?
If like me and you have loads of books (1182 in the app, another 80+ no ISBN, and another 25 of my late mum's to add) download the app free called My Library (I have an Android)
It allow you to add a Genre etc. You can add manually if there is no ISBN. |
Re: What are you reading?
Just checked mine, 5193 epubs on the tablet
it's something to do on a rainy night |
Re: What are you reading?
One Bullet Away - Nathaniel Fick
I’ve been rewatching "Generation Kill", and I’ve already read the book it was based on (by Evan Wright), and I found out the Bravo Platoon Leader had also written a book (which had been well-reviewed), so I thought I would give it a try… Enjoying it so far - the time in Iraq is only part of the book, which starts off with him attending Officer Candidates School, then Officer Training, and his tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. |
Re: What are you reading?
Just Read
Accidental Hitman - AW Wilson Blue Star Enterprises (series of 4 books) - MJ Markgraf Scion - James Islington (really enjoyed this) Make Me - Lee Child (re-read this in anticipation of Reacher series 5, which will be based on this book) Reading now The Mote in God’s Eye - Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle (re-reading this, and hope The Suck hasn’t visited it, unlike the last Niven/Pournelle I re-read, Footfall) Old Mars - George RR Martin & Gardner Dozois (short story collection) Chronospace - Allan Steele Massif - Garth Nix |
Re: What are you reading?
Finished TMIGE - pleased to say The Suck had not visited; now reading the first sequel "The Gripping Hand".
