Call retentions - they may offer compensation or an early doubling (which may or may not work out better). TBH if mine were like that I'd probably risk ADSL assuming Infinity isn't available yet - if it is why are you still on cable?

Has anyone noticed an improvement since the pirate bay block?

I know it isn't going to stop many people from using torrents, but there will be some users who are incapable of figuring out alternatives. Would be interesting if its alleviated any of the strain on the congested parts of the network.

Not personally, if anything mine has been worse.

Yeah, no Infinity here until September. I'm thinking about going ADSL way, I'm offline each evening. That's what I'm having now. I presume one of my neighbors switched on his gaming console today after 4pm

A neighbour switching on a gaming console wouldn't give you a terrible graph like that.

It must be a Premier League match then, with 10 neighbors switching on their tellies. :)

Those spikes puzzle me. Sometime I could have just normally terrible connection on some evening, with a lot of yellow, but almost no red. But sometimes it just switches off, like today. I suspect that it must be some interference in the street cabinet.

Digital Television has no effect on broadband at all. :)

denbursl your utilisations looks high even at 10am, so it could be that there is simply more user activity at 4pm which takes it over a useability threshold at 4pm putting it in packet loss. In short, too many users in your service group which VM need to fix.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

I saw a test recently by someone who runs his hub as an access point on his network, and it tends to spike it's latency randomly from say 12ms upto 100. It's the only piece of hardware that does this on his network, the rest is rock solid stable... says it all about the superhub.
