My goodness, a fellow human being who can't see the problem with the current system. Science should study you.

That sounds familiar. but what usually happens is the other person usually labels them with the term racist, bigot, or a xenophobe. leaving themselves as the normal one.

Look we all know the system isn't perfect ,any democratic system is a fluid one constantly changing to meet the requirements of present day society .Our system has undergone many changes over the last 30yrs or so mainly because the citizens have the right to question it and the government that implement it .If you don't like that or want that right removed so that we can deport anyone we don't like or speaks out against the government then i can furnish you with a list of countries that don't have any of our rights and don't allow anyone to question the system or government, would you be happier living in one of those?.
You say that you are criticising the system ,you have that right ,that is what Abu Hamza was doing untill he broke the law ,when he did that he was sent to jail ,if you do the same you will be sent to jail

If the public could see the comments you've made in defense of the hook cleric, you would risk being lynched at dawn, freedom of speech or not. Your stance really speaks for itself, without help from me or anyone else.

I think the problem is that the current system allows people to disagree with him, and let's others do things that he doesn't believe they should be allowed to.....

According to some here no students have been rioting, just protesting exuberantly :erm:

Anyway AFAIK the next big protest is about the 28th of January. It'll be interesting to see if the sentence given to Mr Fire Extinguisher has finally caused the penny to drop that protesting is ok but when you get violent then 99% of the time the police win.

PS: the fact that none of you have commented on the students attempting to perform a citizens arrest is testimony to the fact that you see only what you want to.

The fact that you feel the need to say that says the same about you. I have stated that in this, I am on the students side, but that I disagree with those who are using it as an excuse for a riot.

Me too.

However have no doubt that the fact that students have finally got together to protest is a real indication of dissent and unrest as they haven't bothered for a very long time.In fact I was surprised at how little comment came from students when student loans were brought in, let alone any protesting about it.They were mighty silent on the whole.

I'm wondering what is different this time.

A word of advice - if a "student" says he's "throwing a cocktail party" and invites you, walk away.

Well, Charlie Gilmour's been charged:
Quote:

The son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour has been charged with violent disorder during a protest against increased tuition fees in London.
Charlie Gilmour, 21, of Billinghurst, Sussex, is also accused of stealing a mannequin leg on 9 December.
He is due at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on 10 February.
A mannequin leg? :erm:
