Last time I had a mouse issue 10 years ago I caught several in the kitchen and loft where there is a down pipe between them both so I've put 4 large traps around the mouse. I really hope I can sort this problem out quickly. I never could figure out their entry point but I'm guessing around the eves into the loft.

They went for the penguin chocolate biscuit in a sealed packet, so I'm going with that and see how it goes, if that doesn't work by the weekend I'll try snickers as that is what got them years ago but it's messy, atleast it's not summer now.

Been watching streaming TV for years now but needed to sign up for it to watch Trigger Point and what triggers me are the 37 minutes of adverts before TP starts

Not really a hate but it has done my head in
Tried to maintain my weight this week. Trained less ate more lost bloody 6lb. Dropped out of target range. Mind you on the off side of this I have now got my 18 1/2 stone award and only half a pound off 12 1/2 stone. If I lose this week the target will drop to 12 1/2 stone and I guess I got it wrong hahaha

18 and a half stone…! :Yikes:

But as you no doubt know, we can go up or down several lbs during the day so weight gain (if that’s the goal) or loss of that amount is always great but can be misleading. It’s why I’ve always advised people to avoid the scales and instead pay more attention to tape measurements, whether certain clothes feel a bit tight or baggy etc

However as long as you’re feeling healthy then all the power to you. I’m still amazed and massively impressed. You’ve earned each one of those awards :tu:

There is a good chance I had high cortisol from the heavy load I put my body through the last few months meaning I could have been carrying a lot of water and inflammation and the rest this week could be enough to recover. Will have to see what happens over the next couple of weeks. Again thanks for your support

Im just so sad about many things.... 1 is this:

I have found alot of gold on this site.... ON THIS BASE ALONE but im afraid to reply because people cant handle the past..... They dont realise the past was betteri in many ways.....

I suppose I could just reply to what I want and if my reply is deleted,it is............. I just think its a stupid and senseless thing to be mad about...

On 1 site in 2012 I found a thread with NO REPLIES from 1999 and it was very useful to me!

The link NOW is gone but in 2012 it was still there......

http://discussions.virtualdr.com/showthread.php?t=3207

I left that site when they went to VB4 .. (Not nearly as nice (slower, etc))

Heres what the page was if your curious

http://web.archive.org/web/201202160...docs/prog.html

It pays to scan the bases, you often find good stuff that would go unseen otherwise......

Just because the OP might not see it,doesnt mean its not a good topic of discussion :)

The problem as I see it Dude is A you bump posts from years ago B because of how you consider retro computing your advice is out of date and in modern day computing dangerous. You only have to see you links to Flash sites to prove that. It was discontinued for a reason

Those are the only 2 things I see as an issue. I admire your passion with retro media I can see the appeal it just does not float my boat

Touch?? I would like to kick his ass in!!!!!!!!!

He shouldnt be working there in my opinion.....

Perhaps the janitor didn’t like being touched, and found it offensive?

Yeah I don’t really like being touched especially by someone I don’t know. If a stranger came up to me and patted me on the back (or any part of me) they won’t do it a second time.

No one HAS to be friendly with you, or talk to you, if they dont want to.
You need to learn that you cannot just go around touching people you dont know.

People can talk to who they want. It's nothing to do with what you want.

The world is no different to what it's always been. I walk about and give a nod or say morning sometimes to older people. It's just a thing we tend to do in Scotland especially when you are in small towns or villages. But you'll always get people that don't acknowledge.

It's their freedom and free will.

It's not sad at all. However what is sad is your reaction over someone not watching to talk or be touched by a stranger. Surely even you can see how bizarre you sound.

My Dr surgery.

3 weeks ago i put in for my repeat dispensary med (6-months at a time), well guess what, they haven't bothered to do it, so as there phone system gets you no where I have to go out of my way and walk there to get them to do it now, and say "I don't care if they have to interrupt a Dr, I want to collect them now not tomorrow"

I thinks enough is enough and time to make an official complaint to the relevant people.

Boots stopped this service here, citing "fuel and manpower costs".

Tesco has also stopped sending in our repeat requests to the GPs due to "problems with the surgery staff".

So I have to drop off the requests at the surgery where Tesco will collect them.

The NHS Wales app won't let me make an account as I don't have the mandatory proofs of identity.

Got our weekly delivery from our local Superstore, only to find the ancient grain rolls were dated best before today's day. So I phoned up to protest they were out of date and was told these rolls are baked daily, so I asked how can they be best before if they haven't even been baked, I am getting a refund. :)

I do mine through Pharmacy2U. They generally take a few days, so always order a week in advance. They send the prescription via the NHS system to your doctor for approval, once approved they send you the meds via Royal Mail 48 Hour Tracked. Been using this system for several years, no real issues.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates - Part 8

Our surgery uses a system called Patchs which enables the patient to order prescriptions as prev listed on the system online.
The doctor approves the medication prior to sending to inhouse pharmacy for subsequent delivery, usually within 3-5days.

Mr T had a bad fall yesterday evening, he called me and I found him on the floor wedged between 2 pieces of furniture. I contacted two of our neighbours to come and assist getting him back up, it was a great struggle but they managed it. Only to find he had banged his forehead and there was a lump the size off an egg and bleeding.

I phoned 111 and a medic came to give him a once over, he decided Mr T didn't need hospital, but said if he felt worse to phone 111 back because there is 24 hour wait for an ambulance...eh? :(

Well after my previous post about my tablet dying I ordered a new Galaxy Tab S9 from O2 on the 3rd with next day delivery.

It's still not been dispatched. Apparently they are having 'warehouse' issues and nothing seems to have been dispatched since the end of Novemeber. Comments all over their socials about it.

So goodness knows when I'll actually get it. as orders from Friday onwards are still waiting, never mind this week's. :(

Literally not telling anyone what the issues is or why there are dispatch delays of a whole week. Website updated to remove next day option and warning of delays on store page.

Meanwhile, I paid extra for a specified day delivery so the missus’ Christmas present could safely arrive here while she was at work and the offspring was at school. The courier showed up with it yesterday teatime. Had to shut wife and teenagers in the kitchen and have them hoik it into the spare bedroom, then shut the door and ban any of them from going in. Will have to wrap it tomorrow and then come up with some clever way of covering it so it’s not obvious what it is.

Then I’ll be phoning the retailer and demanding a refund of the additional ‘specified day’ delivery service, which I did not receive.

I'm sorry but a pony won't survive until Christmas wrapped up. Why can't specified delivery mean what it says?

Missus does seem to think I’m housing a cat in the spare room :D

I spoke to them this morning and got a refund of the extra I paid for named dat delivery. CSR said they had only recently switched to Arrow for their distribution and it has been a nightmare for them.

I was a "good" husband as I built masses of storage space.

But now almost every surface has things piled up with all sorts.

Still no sign of my new tablet from O2. 7 days now. They still won't give a reason for the delay.

However after searching I found that the GXO distribution hub they use had an Ammonia gas leak on the 1st December and the premises is still shut. Also affected VM and Giff Gaff as well as Whithead.

Still extremely frustrating that O2 haven't and seemingly will not confirm this.

Despite Wales NHS being repeatedly told to get its act together and stop making people wait by using a block-appointment system, they are still at it.

The missus had a 2:15 appointment for a 5-minute consultation in a hospital clinic. She had to wait 45 minutes to be seen, and then THREE HOURS for her 5-minute treatment.

I’ve never heard of anyone telling them that so I asked my cousin who deals with appointment-booking at Abertawe Bro Morgannwg, she’s never heard of it either

It became the standard in their Diabetic clinics a long while back. Book a small crowd in for 9am, and hope to clear that lot before the next batch arrived at 1pm.

That caused complaints, so they just moved to smaller groups arriving on the hour, every hour, throughout the day.

Attempts to hide the practice were made, but to those stuck in those groups, it was obvious that it was, and is, still happening.

As a type 2 Diabetic I’ve not experienced that at all

Maybe just your Health Borough?

Certainly sounds like a Health Borough issue than across the board in the NHS.

I think in a lot of cases they are too busy to remember sometimes patients are human beings with human frailties. A friend of mine was admitted Friday in pain. They suspected an infection and found an infarction in one of his kidneys. This was all found on Friday. They said they would treat the infection as sepsis just in case as he has a mechanical heart valve. Since then he has been poked and prodded had scans and all sorts but has been told nothing all the time anxious about what was causing the infection and what was going on. Today he basically insisted someone come and talk to him about it and they finally did but the consultant did not seem happy about it. They still do not know what is causing the infection but think it is not his heart valve. Imagine 5 days with that anxiety and not being told anything? That would drive me insane

Yes, we went to Beefeater on Sunday (Whitbread) and they were short on many items due to the hub being closed.

No it's a Welsh labour government issue . as it is a problem all over the principality. Basically they are the government at all levels. Shame they can't pass the buck.:erm:

It’s not been a problem for me. Generally people around here don’t moan about the NHS like that. Most likely it’s a regional Health Borough issue than across

The point I was making is the Welsh NHS hasn’t been given any instructions surrounding ‘block booking’. As for the service I can only go on what I’ve experienced and the FB group in my town (where everyone has something to say about everything) people are generally complimentary about NPT, Singleton and Morriston hospitals.

When I also lived in Cardiff the waiting lists were astronomical which is why it feels to me more like an individual Borough/Trust issue

Despite being by far the largest population centre, our hospital only offered 30 hours' of diabetic clinics per week, less than that provided in other Health Boards around Wales. That was addressed by packing-in appointments in blocks that saw a higher throughput for a while. But then the complaints of long waiting times once at the hospital started to appear.

To address this, the management moved the clinic to an old nurses' accommodation block at the far corner of the site, with little or no parking nearby. The hours available increased, but the chance of getting the required annual checkup dropped like a stone, Newly-diagnosed patients were prioritised for a while I understand, but complications of diabetes, of which there are many, began to add a greater load to the department.

And then management started moving all sorts of diagnosis and treatment out of the city to another site. But then they had to move some clinics from that remote site to the main site when waiting lists grew rapidly.

Winter flu added numbers to the lists every year, and many departments effectively closed during COVID and the following months.

And as a "centre of excellence" a lot of patients are coming from further afield, out of their own Health Board areas, adding to the pressures on our hospital.

Starmer often states something along the lines of "The NHS under the Conservatives, is broken". He fails each time to mention the state of the NHS in Wales, a separate body, that has been under Labour control for 25 years.

Wasn't trying to compare with England, just saying that under labour it's rubbish. I'm luckily I can only judge via friends or reported on news. I get to see my GP with in a couple of hours, haven't been an in~ patient for year's fingers crossed it stays that way. The last referral , was 6 days after being made , and was down to my preferred location . Feel really sorry for people of Wales but you get what you vote for.

We shall have to hope that the 20mph debacle and Minimum Unit Pricing will sway some diehard Labour voters away from them in the next election.

Starmer actually said that he looked at Welsh Labour as his blueprint for England.
