I think the*Premier Sports*posts got removed as they were jammed between others that were seen as off-topic. The two points were:
1)*Premier Sports' Facebook page*"*Great news, any update on Virgin yet? [23 hours ago]
*No but you never know. Things can move quickly. [20 hours ago]
2) If I remember correctly,Technix said he had heard a deal between the two companies was looking more likely. If so, channel 551 would be the channel number.

Don't want more wi-fi flying through my body thanks. Hope if VM release new boxes you can turn it off. Chinese are refining wi-fi through LED light bulbs at the moment.

The people who normally inform us have their trusted sources and at time of posting the news may have been correct. But surely people can understand that launching a new channel isn't the easiest thing. It can be a technical nightmare. VM will only launch channels after extensive testing, if there is a glitch they will work at it until it's right. Take Netflix for example, this was rumored to launch this past week. At the time we received this news, it may have been the plan but due to a technical aspect it may have been postponed.

Honestly I'd rather VM do this because it then prevents us moaning if they launch a faulty product.

New TiVo box will too.

The new Virgin TiVo?

Obviously the Sky box has Wi-Fi for anytime or on demand, but that's not necessary on a cable box.

I really think I'd prefer to have a wired connection for streaming to/from a TiVo.. got mine all set up for MRS but the poor channel choice means it never gets used.

If VM were to include a large choice of channels in the 101-199 range then would probably use that aspect of TiVo a lot more.

I'd also like to see them introduce the option to be able to stream your own media via TiVo to your TV but can't see this happening anytime soon.
Luckily our Smart TV/Bluray player does this for us downstairs and Bluray player does upstairs.

The TiVo has a lot of potential to be a central hub for your entertainment needs in the home with the the apps 'store' and connectivity but I feel VM need to move quicker than they do.. for example the Android TV Anywhere App that still hasn't been released

Given up on MRS - felt like a mug paying £5 extra for a 2nd TiVo while waiting for mainstream channels to become available for streaming. Got my 2nd Tivo swapped for a V Box.

...but it would allow you to replace your TiVo remote with the TV Anywhere iPad app to control your TiVo.

I got my 2nd box installed while it was £3 per account (not box) and despite them trying to remove that option and charge me an extra £3, I get a rolling discount to bring it back to what I originally had.

I enquired about dropping the 2nd TiVo and just putting in a VHD box in it's place but it worked out I wouldn't save any more anyway (or so they said to me!)

Yeah the channel choice is still poor, can't even find the page on the VM where it lists them (was out of date last time I found it)

I noticed it got deleted. The fact Technix had the info is very promising.

Don't get me started on those on the DS Thread. Last night he stated that a media degree is not a degree, or sorry as he says, a Meeja Degree. I'm also not going to point out the legal stance on him using the VM Cable to watch channels without a subscription.

It's a shame MRS is so bad, it would be a good feature, apparently Sky will be introducing their own version soon, Virgin better step up their game.

Personally though I do use both Tivo boxes, but i wouldn't have them both for the sake of MRS right now.

Most likely be for the "rumoured" idea of being able to stream from your smartphone direct to your TiVo box.

Doesn't mean a channel closure, nothing has been confirmed, nor has it been scheduled to stop BARB reporting. I just reckon it will get a different EPG number.

The main reason I got the 2nd TiVo was to encourage myself to watch telly in the front room more - but nearly all of the TV I watch is recorded, so that 2nd TiVo was to be used mainly for streaming from the TiVo in my lounge to the front room.

That was the plan anyway. It was foiled by the likes of BBC, ITV, C4, Sky etc. If that changes and MRS get more channels then I might reconsider but for now, I'd rather save some money.

paultrademark -
they told me too that I wouldn't save anything - I told them they were wrong, and they were charging me £5 extra per month. They rechecked and said 'yeah, you're right.' I'm now paying £48 per month for the Premiere Collection (with the phone line rental pre-paid for a year).
