Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.
I received my bill the other day and sure enough the increase had been applied, approx an extra 5.50 a month for my services. I called them up and was put through to relations, and through some negotiation managed to get me monthly bill back down, plus and extra couple of quid off as well, and they gave me a free upgrade on my phone package. I was out of contract on all my services, so maybe that helped, as I did agree to a new contract. S

Yeah I did similar when the letters came out, paid just over a £5 less the past couple months and now the increase has been applied, am still 51p less than I was before. Though the bill was wrong and they have now had to apply a rolling £2 credit each month as the amount the advisor told me back in November was not what was billed.
But I was sensible enough to make sure he put in the notes the amount agreed at the time, so it's honoured, and I was still in contract but re-contracted for 12 months. |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.
I think the number of "retentions" must be quite minor. One lad at work said today that he still pays £100 a month and he has been out of contract for years. I think apathy and a lack of knowledge among many customers (regarding taking a new contract) mean VM actually give "very little" away. It's difficult not to get carried away thinking most people are like the many switched on customers on here, and know how to play the game correctly:-) It worked well on my mobile too, £15 a month for 200 mins, unlimited texts 500mb internet. The £15 also includes the £6.95 fee for phone insurance....bargain. (sorry mods, just realized its off topic)
