At Drew's leaving service today, His Dad, big brother and I were so proud of him. He was word perfect with his lines it is lovely to see the confident, well adjusted little boy he is now compared to what he was a few years ago. Thank goodness we changed him school, I cannot praise his school enough and all they have done for my son especially his headmistress who worked closely with him and us the woman is really amazing IMHO the school and education department is lucky to have her and it goes without saying so are the pupils and parents. Yes I was crying and bursting with pride for my youngest son.

School finishes today at 1pm then the wee one is off for 6 weeks, thank goodness his big brother can help out with child care. I knew having a 10 year age gap was a good idea. LOL
Still cannot believe the wee one is starting High school after the holidays.

Wishing you many happy years of marriage and hope the sun shines on your special day Stephen not that the weather is too important apart for the photos, it rained on my wedding day and we have been married for 25 years now, the rain did not spoil our day at all, after all the photos were taken in the hotel.

I'm still grinning at your good news.

Will you be needing any alterations, or any decorating before you can move in? Will all your furniture fit? How easy will it be to get to places you like to attend? Will it put you in a better position for transport? Oh so many things I want to ask so will now shut up and retreat before I get slapped. :D :D :D

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Excellent news on the new abode Dilli. :tu:

Couldn't put this in the 'what have you fixed lately' thread as I didn't do the work but it did make me happy. I recently found a leak of coolant emanating from somewhere in the rear wheel arch of my car. I knew there was pipework under there serving the rear air-con/heater unit so guessed that was likely to be the problem. A little searching yielded the answer I didn't want - a design fault which meant that a small vulnerable area of the pipework was prone to corrosion from road salt etc. and required the entire rear section of pipework to be removed and replaced. Fearing a bill of c. £750, I had a look at the rest of the pipework under the car and noticed that the front and rear sections of the pipes were connected with flexible hoses so I thought an acceptable work around would be to simply join the flow and return sections at that point thereby isolating the damaged rear section in situ. A local garage did the job for £60 a couple of days ago and so far so good. We've never used the rear heater in the car anyway and only rarely use the rear air-con which still functions properly so I'm a happy bunny right now. :)

the alterations needing to be done and leaving them till you move in has always done my head in. I had to decline a perfectly good house years ago due to the fact it had no central heating and a coal fire. I said there is no way I am moving all my stuff in for you to start building work and ruin all my kit with filth.

Nice one dilli, don't forget got some lagers if you want them for the house warming!

My happy thought is that I took out a loan from the DWP last year to help with costs whilst I was in the middle of signing off then signing back on. Thought I had around £100 left to pay, a relative is offering to clear what's left for me, so called them just now and only have £55 left to pay off. Feeling happy now.

l am glad you are feeling better Mark as there is nothing worse then having debts and loans to pay and we are just grateful in our household that we have no debts or loans to pay now because at one time many years ago we thought are we ever going to clear our debts and loans as it was quite a considerable amount but thankfully two years ago we payed everything off and from that moment onwards we have been debt free thankfully.:Sun:

And just called the hospital because the follow up appointment for my eyes never came. Appointment never made, typical useless hospital. However lovely lady on the phone has made my appointments for next Monday, having a scan of the back of my eyes at half 9, then seeing the consultant at 10. Nice and efficient, only one trip to the hospital. Now to remember to take my sunglasses so the light won't have me squinting.

Who do you like in Tennis Marc?

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Eugenie Bouchard, Laura Robson, nobody really in the men's side of the draw. I used to like Goran Ivanesevic (sp?), Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi oh and also Leyton Hewitt. Not liked any of the men since Federer et al came along.

Andy played poorly today, but IMO he is still a champion.

My happy thought today is life is good and getting better for me after a lousy 8 months things are looking up, just wish it was the 11th of July and that's all I'm saying for now. ;)

So disappointed today, Andy was just not himself and the other guy had a great chance to take over. Djokovic not to hot today either, I feel as if I have to pick myself up now, I better start being happy ;)
