Porridge again, but not made in the proper way because:
A) I didn't soak the oats overnight. B) I wasn't wearing a Kilt and Tam 'O Shanter. C) I wasn't waving a Claymore about with an eye open for marauding Englishmen. D) Cooked on an electric hob, not on a few hot stones laid on a bed of smouldering peat. tsk, traditionalists eh :rolleyes: ;) :D |

Anwar Ratol are small but they pack a punch. Chaunsa are a good alternative. The others are a gamble. |

We smoked a couple of ducks at the weekend then used the carcasses to make a broth which we turned into a noodle soup with some bits of duck and stir fried veg.
With the ducks we had smoked potato salad, Mediterranean veg. |

Steak pie and oven chips*, made in the new air fryer - probably the nicest crispest oven chips I’ve had.

Top side beef stew for later. Cooked in the pressure cooker... I timed it perfectly for between tough and tender around 20 minutes 4 whistles and the natural discharge.
I had a protein shake an apple and orange for breakfast/lunch. |

Just finished a late lunch - Black Pudding and Chorizo Hash, Crispy Herb Potatoes, and Red Onion topped with a Fried Egg (also added two rashers of back bacon).
First decent meal (with flavours and textures) in about a week - I had a procedure this morning, and I’ve been on a low-fibre bland diet since Sunday, and fasted since 9am yesterday morning, drinking only water (and some vile preparation) for the last 24 hours. Thai meal tonight, with some nice IPAs to wash it down. |

Skin on salmon seared skin finished in a butter, garlic, thyme and fresh lemon juice. Boiled new potatoes finished in a butter and herb mix. Country vegetables.

I'm quite boring on Thai meals - I love Tom Yam soup with chicken, and then it depends how I feel on what main I have; I had Gratum Prik Thai with chicken and noodles on Friday (garlic, coriander, & black pepper sauce, stir fried with onions & mushrooms, topped with fresh coriander) - I tend to go for flavours rather than heat. We always get Thai takeaway from Jinos Thai restaurant in Headingley - it's been going for over 20 years, and is run/food cooked by Thais. |

Breaded cod, lightly spiced wedges and cathedral city beans. I put the cod and wedges in the air fryer at the same time 180 for 20mins all perfectly cooked at the same time :D

I rustled up a goat curry last night. I found an older pack of the curry powder I used and saw that it isn't the same as it used to be. It looked darker and Amazon buyers had mentioned it.
Comparing the ingredients the older had aniseed in it and now salt is listed higher up the list where it used to be last. The latter hints as saving, salt is heavy so you can keep the weight up using cheaper ingredients. Still it tasted good. I didn't use coconut milk as I wanted something else but lamb stock made up the liquid and I did at a scotch-bonnet chilli for heat. |

Strangely I had a dig in the freezer last night and found some goat "best before 2021". That'll need some strong curry powder. Or it might become dogfood. :)

Fresh lamb kofta meat from the butchers formed into meat balls. A lot of liquid is released on heat so no oil required. Throw in coloured fusilli. Meatball pasta :D and a container of veg.

A divorced friend flits from place to place on Deliveroo. He highly recommended one place that does a HOT chicken curry and chips, so I ordered that for today.
The 15% off offer was swallowed up by Deliveroos charges though. |

From scratch: Cardamom Chicken and Gurkha Veggies. The lad and I chewed on raw bullet chillies as the ladies won't allow me to put chillies in the meal.
