Seeing as LVG is similar in many ways to SAF plus he does have experience at the highest level with some of the biggest teams in the world I feel more confident in him than with Monkey Moyes but he has been out of the game since 2011...again that could be a good thing and he'll be itching to carry on or the 3 years might have passed him by a bit.

I'm not expecting immediate success (although he won the German league with BM) though, as long as he gets up a top 4 finish next season I think things will be looking good in the transition.

Isn't he the Guy that failed to get Holland to the world cup and nearly got Barcelona relegated, his spell on Munich was so successful that he was sacked for dropping out of the top three, still he was good in the early nineties with Ajax.

I don't think he's too far off the mark with that. De Gea stopped us from getting a much worse position than 7th many times, Mata did well in the 4/5 months he had, Rooney worked his butt off in almost every game and RVP's history speaks for itself although I'd have probably added Januzaj to his list. I don't know if what that story has reported is what he actually meant/said but it could also be a plan to see who steps up their performances.

Den, you keep saying teams should stick with one manager. Norwich are doing just that.

I wouldn't choose him, I think 1 pt out of 15 in a relegation fight was poor.

But..I have no issues with clubs changing a manager.

Doesn't mean he's not going to be offered a new deal, he's probably on a week to week deal until they let him go or he signs a new deal. Bit sad to see jack collison go, he looked so good as a kid, good riddance to Joe Cole to, should never have had him back.

What kicked off at the end there, why was Simeone on the pitch?

Arthurgray50@blu 24-05-2014 22:40

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

There were several reasons why AM didn't win. The Referee was totally biased against them, and each time Ronaldo went down, he was looking for a foul.

And that penalty was very dubious. And what about yellow cards, for taking off the shirts.

Problem is with foriegn clubs, is that it is all about money - nothiong else. If major clubs dont win any trophies, they sack there managers.

Atletico lost the game when Simeone took off Raul Garcia. After that they lost control of the midfield, ridiculous substitution.

Arthur, some of the challenges by AM should have been bookings, only allowed because of the enormity of the occasion. The best football team won.

Inter Milan bid £25m for him 20 years ago which wouldn't have been too far from a comparable fee.
