However confession time - I have to hold my hand up and say I gave in and called the 800 number and have got two boxes ordered. On VIP50 with the 2nd box as a V+, so was paying 110.55 a month. Going to two TiVo boxes dropped that £10 so hubby decided he wanted HD on the 2nd TiVo. Huge hit on the up front costs, but monthly total 107.55 - so £3 less than we were originally paying. I do feel slightly guilty for ordering before getting the email, but it's one of the very few times in my life I haven't followed the rules :( Was offered install for Wednesday, Thurs or Fri. Have app'ts on Wed and Thurs, plus about 40 hours of TV to watch/download off the current V+'s so opted for Friday. When I called it said 30min holding time then rang straight through to a live person. She was very helpful, not sure which call centre, but could have been Manilla. She new exactly what she was on about - all correct prices and options offered, and relatively quick and painless aside from the fact her computer froze for about 10 minutes in the midst of everything. So feeling sort of guilty, but very happy that we'll have ours very soon!! Wonder how long it will take for the email to arrive. |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Can someone please help me out anout payment for the box.
I have got mine coming on April 20th and my bill is sue out on April 18th so will the box go on that bill or my next one on May 18th? Im just very worried about going over my credit limit as that will happen if my bill comes out on Monday then on wednesday when Tivo comes the fee goes onto my account. I did ask the sales girl but i could not understand what she was on about but what i could make out was that Virgin up your credit limit for box then it goes back to normal credit limit. can anyone please shed any light onto this please as i wont be very happy if on Wednesday when it comes i cant use it as it would have taken me over my credit limit. Also when the guy comes to install it is it a case of taking old box out and just plugging Tivo in or will he have to do anything more? |

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
While I've got my install booked for next Wednesday afternoon, I did try following up afterwards to see if I could upgrade to VIP50 (currently on VIP20) - so that the broadband side of things could be done on the same afternoon (ie: superhub install).
Unfortunately they weren't able to attach to the current work order(?), and they would have had to cancel the current TiVo install and re-book everything - which was a bit of a pain, as I'd already booked the afternoon off. Their suggestion was to phone up and sort VIP50 out once TiVo was up and running. So the moral of this story is to decide whether you want to upgrade to VIP50 before phoning for your TiVo install.. not after! :dunce: |

Alternatively - as my husband is actually home all day today - wondering whether I should cancel the online order and order by phone today - feel that I'm more likely to get a confirmed install date this way? |
Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Hi all can anyone confirm that triple XL is a standard bundle so shouldn't be affected by TiVo bar the £3 increase?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I phoned faults because all of my services have been down since 11pm last night, I then asked if I could be put through to CS so I could ask when I might receive my Tivo email. Got through to a scottish bloke and he told me it could arrive anytime between now and the end of this month. I said I thought it was supposed to be this week, which he said it was suppose to be but its taken longer than expected to get through the list. He also said its being done in order of when you registered. Does this info sound right? I'll just have to wait I suppose.
