Something tells me the Daily Mirror were short of a story to put on the back of the paper ;) (Yes this story was on the back of the Mirror in the Manchester area, I kid you not).

Anyways...aren't you lot bored of moaning about cheating and dodgy referees by now? It's all you go on about. Talk about football for a change ;)

Also, wasn't the ref Mariner, the same ref who sent off Scholes in dubious circumstances against Spurs? They always say these things even themselves out ;)

We all know Arsenal will sign some nobody for £5 million, who will be written off by Football writers as too lightweight and then be awesome :D

Just get worried if Wenger calls him a 'Fox in the Box'.

At last, here is the Man Utd line up for tonight....

Man Utd: Kuszczak, Park, Fletcher, Carrick, Evra, Gibson, Scholes, Nani, Welbeck, Anderson, Owen.
Subs: Foster, Valencia, Obertan, Eikrem, James, Gill, Stewart.

Hopefully the makeshift back four will hold out.

Bah. Who cares if they don't? The amount of quality teams finishing second makes it pretty much pointless where you finish other than having the home leg last (itself a dubious honor as it means the other team has a longer period for an away goal)

Despite finishing 3rd, Wolfsburg may go through anyway:

Quote:

CSKA Moscow could be thrown out of the Champions League and banned from future competitions because of positive drugs tests for two of their players following a match against Manchester United.

Russian defenders Alexei Berezutsky and Sergei Ignashevich have been provisionally suspended from all games after positive doping tests for a banned stimulant.

The random tests were carried out following the Champions League clash with Manchester United on November 3 which ended in a 3-3 draw.

UEFA's disciplinary committee will hear the case on December 17 but under the European body's regulations, if more than one player tests positive for banned drugs action can be taken against the team.

CSKA should definately be thrown out of the competition, without question in my opinion. There's no excuse.

Congrats to Owen. Would love to see him on the bench at the WC if he's fit.

ME !

This is Man Utd I am talking about, winning is the only option, it doesn't matter about who we get in the next phase.

Also I am pleased for Michael Owen tonight.
Another master stroke by SAF in signing him on a free. :)

It's strange that nearly our whole team is out injured but Owen is still fit! :D

Sol Campbell to United?

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news...cle249069.html

Our backline is depleted and SAF did the same sort of thing with Hendrik Larsson so I'm thinking this could be a possibility.

would be surprised - Larsson & Blanc for that matter were brought in when both had been playing regularly - Campbell has had one game this season for Notts Co and by most accounts looked well of the pace.

I'll be suprised if this happens. O'Shea, Evans, Brown and Neville are all going to be back from injury by January, there shouldn't be any need for a defender then.
