l am sorry to hear about new condition peanut and my thoughts are with you as you seem to be so unlucky with your health.:hugs:

That's the thing its not new, I've had to fight to make them listen about my back problems which has been for years and I've been ignored for soo long. But managed to gets the scans and tests done and it's such a relief to get some answers finally. I knew my neck was fused but now they are taking it more seriously.

I'm glad they're sorting it out at last.

I know what that's like - I have been sick (feeling and being) for nearly three years now. Last week when I was at the clinic they told me off for loosing weight too quickly. I pointed out I feel sick most of the time so don't like eating.

They got one of those tongue things and stuck it in my mouth - oddly after I spewed on the dr they took me seriously too now ;)

More tests but at least they are sorting it.

@ dilli and peanut.

Nothing worse than Doctors dismissing your concerns so I am glad that you are both now being taken seriously. Hopefully something will be possible to at least relieve some of the discomfort you must both have been suffering for these previously dismissed conditions.

<<hugs>> to you both.

3 weeks on and still learning more about Harvey's personality. I'm fortunate in that he came already knowing some basic commands and is house trained but as each dog has its own thoughts and understandings I wanted to figure him out even more.

He has lots of little quirks and ways but if I'm tickling his belly but go to do something else he gets up and blocks me from moving. If I try to go in a different direction he comes over and blocks me again and this carries on for as long as I let him.

This damn sheepdog is trying to HERD me....

Watching Keane my dog enjoying the sun in the back garden, he seems to be enjoying the sun rays the only part he isn't to impressed with is when the birds go to the bird feeder.

There was Osem Jnr #2 and myself enjoying an impromptu barbecue in the garden when I needed to go inside to get a plate to serve his food on. As I returned I tripped on one of the garden steps and fell quite heavily, scraping my arm and side as I hit the wall and winding up in a state of shock on my back like a traumatised beached whale. The instant response from my special lad to my obvious plight you wonder? "Sausage!", "Bread!"

How wonderful to have a life unconcerned by the pain and suffering around you... :)

Went along to my first Parkrun 5k since August when I had my PB of 23:23 which I was happy with but as I've been training for distance rather than pace since then I was worried I wouldn't get near it. I was hoping to get a sub-24 but thought I'd get 25 minutes-something.

In the blazing hot weather I smashed my PB by almost a minute coming in at 22.25. Absolutely amazed and well happy. My next target is a sub-20 :)

The wee one is going to his new high school tomorrow and Tuesday to give him a taste of high school and to get a chance to meet his new peers and teachers, he is really looking forward to it. I hope he enjoys it and hopefully he will know someone. As a mother I'm really hoping that their will be someone in his class from his primary. Can't believe he is starting High School full time after the summer where has my wee boy gone he is growing up fast, too fast IMO.

That's the wee one off to High School for two day's, when I dropped him he looked tiny compared to the one's in 6th year but then again they will be around 17 or 18 years old. I'm sure he will be fine along with his fellow pupils the Mum's looked more nervous than the children.

Sunny day here, washing out. ;)

Thanks :tu:

He sure did! He had a big dish of pasta and vegetables first followed by, from the grill:

3 x large Brockwurst sausages
4 x whole garlic mushrooms
1 x lean beef quarter pound burger
1 x small baguette - half in the form of garlic bread and the other plain.
1 portion of BBQ chicken - I cooked a whole small bird spatchcock style.

My God that boy has hollow legs but then he's incredibly active so he needs the energy and burns it all off.

Sorry to hear that dilli but at least the Yellow finish will look bright and cheerful.

Pity you can't get a custom made ones with Velcro fastenings. Would be a lot easier and you could invest in a good art job on them to make a real fashion statement. :)

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

One of the sites I maintain at work had to be taken off line yesterday when the software running a service it relies on suddenly decided to commit suicide at some point between 12am and 9am yesterday morning. After several hours, my colleagues managed to get the service back online, and the site is back. That's not the good news.

After being told by the service's original designer (it was custom written in Java) that it was impossible, I've managed to write a little bit of code that, should this service fail again, takes the site off line and emails me with the exact details of the error given by the service.

So, while it won't stop the service malfunctioning in the future, it should at least give me some advance warning when the service does malfunction.

Admittedly, the code is only working on our test site at the moment (it will be implemented on the live site along with a few other changes when we have tested them properly), and while the code functioned correctly when I was able to engineer failures of the service (the test site uses a test version of the service), but there is no real way to be 100% sure what will happen with an actual failure.

Technology, a wonderful thing when it works properly. When it goes wrong, it becomes a pain in the backside.

Mind you, although I consider him a friend, the original designer is lazy. One page on the site needed to obtain certain information from the service. Information that was not offered in a form that the site could use without having to generate a lot of calls to the service . The page needed to list equipment, but needed three calls to the service per item of equipment (and there are hundreds of items) to generate all the info it needed.

I told him what info I needed, and asked for a function to retrieve it. When he said No, write it yourself, I did, which resulted in a page that could generate up to 600 calls to the service and take several minutes to update. The guy left, and I talked to the guy who took over from him. Within 2 days, I had a function that retrieved all the info I needed with one call to the service and took 5-10 seconds as opposed to several minutes.

Last week I saw a pair of shoes that I really really liked but hated the price tag so never got them, but I did today as they were on sale at more than half the original price that made my day. Thank goodness I never bought them last week or this post would have been on moans and pet hates. ;) Just need a new dress to go with them now sadly don't get paid till next week so the new dress will have to wait till then.

Love your happy thought weenie. I have a small liking for shoes myself. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2016/10/1.gif

My happy thought has been a lovely day with our Grandson. We have him most Wednesdays but I have been flat on my back with the pain from a torn muscle since last Thursday and didn't expect to see him to-day. Industrial strength pain killers are great. Guess I will pay the price tomorrow but I don't care. A day full of giggles and hugs is worth any price.

I thought it was time that Osem Jnr had a treat for being such a good lad and being so cool with his 'difficult' younger brother so I just bought him a 5 inch dual SIM phone. It'll be a nice surprise and a small token of my appreciation.

After been let down for the last few day's with people who are meant to be professionals in their field of work I have now managed to get a tree scientist coming out tomorrow at 12.30 he seems a very clever man and is used to doing reports for insurance companies, court procedures etc if only I had his number at the start of my search would have saved a whole load of time. He is alot more expensive than a tree surgeon but I suppose you get what you pay for at the end of the day. He has more qualifications than the ingredients of a Mars bar LOL it seems. He has a masters in forest science etc but more importantly a registered chartered consultant which suits all parties involved in the problem I have. Really hope he does not let us down like the tree surgeons. Fingers crossed. I am so happy now in a way that we were let down by the tree surgeons as this guy seems the business so it just goes to show you as the old saying goes "what is for you won't go by you" :erm: if you get my meaning. I had never heard of a tree scientist before but then again had no need to search for one. Happy things are moving forward again as they were at a stand still for a while there.

Good for you Weenie. Debenham.s is like that their prices go up and down each week. I bought a bag for £45 for my sisters birthday and the next week it was half price,

Tree scientist came out yesterday and he is sending his report to our insurance company so we will just have to wait and see hopefully neighbours trees will not be a concern for them but we will see and then it is up to them in what they want do do, hopefully nothing too concerning will come up but I doubt it as it was noted in the boundary survey report that some of the neighbours trees were far too close to any building never mind a house "Holly tree within inches from our home and she has also planted a tree in our property nightmare". Happy things are now out my hands as if anything needs to be done it is in the hands of the insurance rather than us having to deal with neighbour, as our neighbour is not to nice to deal with tbh since claiming our land all communication has broken down which is sad but what we meant to do give her the front garden. Ehh no chance work to hard to give it away ;)
