Yes, while I am happy to be leaving because of the backstabbing etc, I am quitting because I have to look after my Nan while she has treatment for 3 brain tumours.

Mark as Osem has said please claim carers allowance and contact social work as they can offer advice on aids that your Nan may need and be entitled to as I know my Mum got a wheelchair, hospital bed etc. We never claimed carers allowance but wish we had but unfortunately we thought it was means tested and have just recently found out that it is not, apparently thousands go unclaimed each year, so please claim as I reckon your Nan will be entitled to this benefit. Your Nan may also be able to get a alert system put in, I know in Scotland the local council gives this service so maybe that would be also worth inquiring about.

I 2nd what Jo has said "You are a Grandson to be proud of Mark. Remember we are here for you when you need us"

Take care Mark :hugs:

Had a harbour cruise round San Diego Harbour, and saw lots of US Navy warships, including a couple of US Marine Corps Littoral Landing Craft, a destroyer that sneaked out of the morning sea mist near us, and the USS Zumwalt, the latest stealth destroyer (the one with '1000' on the bow).

Lovely pictures Hugh as my Dad would have been in his element down there taking some pictures.

Nice ! The Zumwalt's getting it's lubricant coolers fixed to prevent a water ingress problem which was causing some embarrassing breakdown problems ;)

That destroyer looks like one of the new block of Arleigh Burkes out for shakedown :)

Same here, but in 2 years I'll get a updated model with the goodies, I don't currently have.

11 days and counting now. Although having second thoughts, and considering doing what a coworker suggested, rather than giving up completely why not do one or 2 jobs a week, which means I get some respite from caring for my grandmother. Sounds selfish, but if I chose jobs that are within say a 90 minute drive or maybe a mile limit (say 30 miles) and did those I might be OK. Need to sit down discuss with family at some point.

Yea at last a happy thought.

My eldest son will be home on Friday morning and he has just face timed his little brother and gave his orders to which his Dad and I will comply to :) his fiancée wants spicy chicken pizza and a bottle of diet coke and my lovely son wants chicken fajita pizza and a carton of fresh orange juice. I'm so looking forward to them coming home as I have really missed them.

Just seen my niece in her prom dress, and she looks stunning.

Scary that she left school on Friday after her 29th exam :O
