Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
I can't understand why so many people keep on moaning about Sky Atlantic not being on Virgin or any other TV platform when all you need do is get a Now TV box with a entertainment pass and hey presto you've got Sky Atlantic!

I agree. But some people want every service on one box. I think some are waiting for the next VM box and hoping it has a built in DVR/Bluray player :D Actually, Bluray/DVD players are an option for people; it's a device most people have. I have a few years old LG bluray player that has Now TV, Amazon and Netflix on it. |

The advantage for Sky is that it increases its revenue, as Virgin viewers will have the option of paying them £6.99 pm for basically just two extra channels! The fact that Sony doesn't have a wholesale deal with Sky or sell broadband are red herrings and make absolutely no difference in relation to the argument I am putting forward. ---------- Post added at 17:13 ---------- Previous post was at 17:10 ---------- Quote:

Unless it's changed, live channels are SD and catchup 720p. Given I don't ever watch live channels, I always get 720p |

To get SA VM customers have to pay extra for two basic channels, whereas Sky customers don't, making the VM offering with Now TV added on financially less attractive. |

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
Why would Sky even bother with the development time to bring an app to VM TiVo when most of its channels can already be received through VM anyway and the Now TV box is available for peanuts for anyone to purchase.
Do you really think VM would want to add an app what promotes a direct relationship for it's customer with Sky ? At this stage it's complete fantasy land in my opinion. |
