It in the same family tree as Turner. HBO is Turner wee brother.

It the same with Smallworld - Liberty Global do not own it.

TimeWarner is the parent of Warner Bros, HBO and Turner Broadcasting.

Indeed however the point I was making with Media Boy still stands Turner Broadcasting and HBO are run as separate subsidiaries under the ownership of Time Warner.

Yes, so my semi-serious point about HBO OnDemand is invalid; Turner and HBO appear to be run as separate subsidiaries of TimeWarner.

Here's a couple of titbits of news/rumours from Liberty's latest Q2 earnings which was released earlier:

A lot of talk on here a while back about whether Amazon Prime (formerly Lovefilm) would come to VM or not. Well, still no clearer on that today, but something I didn't know is that Liberty have their own Netflix type service called MyPrime which is being rolled out across their cablecos.

MyPrime costs about the same per month as Netflix, or, if you take a higher priced bundle it comes free as part of that bundle. Perhaps this may come to VM soon.

Secondly, Liberty's cloud based service is launching in Poland. We have Tivo in the UK, but in Liberty's other cablecos they use their own software and stbs called Horizon. Liberty have teamed up with Comcast and Time Warner Cable to centralise software standards and they call this RDK (Reference Design Kit). The Horizon cloud based service launching in Poland is based on RDK software and standards.

Here's a review of the Dutch MyPrime service here, translated already for you:

And for those interested in Horizon and have not already done so, have a gander over to Liberty's Irish cableco site for info:

Is your user name a coincidence or are you a fan/developer of the Horizon platform? :)

Had a look at the Horizon box, looks impressive but also interesting that they have 200Mb broadband as well.

According to a poster on Dspy WWE will be $9.99 globaly, they had a press conference and said the $9.99p/m subject to a 6 month commitment or $19.99p/m with no commitment price would apply to WWE Network globaly not just the USA.
This works out about £5.60p/m or £12.70p/m

Had the username long before Liberty created their horizon software, so no, not connected to them. As for being a fan, if Liberty can create some decent cable software that is fast and actually works then I'll happily become a fan, but then what will we have left to moan about if everything works?:)
