will TIVO have a internet browser app installed or one even available to download? If it does I should be able to watch my US based Slingbox on my TV.

At present there is a Ebay, Youtube and Celebrity news Application which work in the same way as apple and android apps. The facebook and twitter apps are currently still being worked on. Not heard or see anything about a browser.

With Youtube on the Tivo will it be possible to watch anything and everything that they have?.

I ask because they now have a number of full length films---nothing modern, mostly old public domain films but these are ones that I like.

Depends on the content, some content owners don't allow their content to be played on YouTube via TV-connected devices (like my WDTV Live and Samsung C650 TV).

just been watching a whole load of stuff on the Us TIVO Premiere and it seems to me that Virgin need to get a lot of partnerships in place to enhance the TIVO experience even more. My main worry is now that Amazon have bought lovefilm we will not see this added to the service as in the US Amazon offers movie on demand which would be in direct competition to Filmflex .

VM have already expressed an interest in having Lovefilm on TiVo, I don't see why the Amazon takeover would change that.

It would have to be the right deal commercially and add value. If Lovefilm came along and said ‘we’ve got something that adds to this’, we’d be the first ones to embrace them - we’re not precious about that. Let a thousand flowers bloom! It’s a managed environment but we’re really open in terms of who we host on the platform - as long as the commercials are right and customers are interested in it.

Tivo Question #49343421:

Is the TiVo upscaler as good as the one in the V+ boxes? Or better?

Hope it happens it would be cool to be able to search movies on linear TV , Filmflex and Lovefilm as I would imagine now Amazon own it they would have many more blockbusters available to stream ( Lovefilms stream offerings aren't great currently)

Also there prices are good in the US

Cindy Rose has said VM are talking to "everyone" in regards to Apps for TiVo, so expect some more goodies.

Agreed but wasn't sure whether Amazon offering on demand movies like in the US may have an impact on Filmflex , I hope it happens as you can see Amazon having more choice and lower prices than film flex. Thinking about it though lovefilm joined the ps3 and playstation sell and rent movies.

As far as VM are concerned, Filmflex would still be the primary film rental service on TiVo. But there's room for Lovefilm and other IPTV film apps via TiVo.

With the backing of Amazon, I can see Lovefilm getting on loads of boxes, its already on Samsung & Sony TVs and Blu Ray players and I'm sure there will be a YouView app as well at some point.

Besides, at the moment there's no HD streaming option from Lovefilm so for On-Demand HD movies, Flimflex is the only option on VM, for now. Plus you already need to subscribe to Lovefilm before streaming their content anyway (and they currently have no Universal titles to rent), so the impact on Flimflex won't be that great.

ESPN Player and MLB.tv would be nice, but I can't see it happening.
