Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

The wee one is going on a school trip next week Monday - Friday, and although I am slightly apprehensive about this trip as he will be rock climbing, and doing a lot of water sports etc, it gives me great joy to see his excitement building up as Monday is getting closer to his adventure fun filled week. He is looking forward to Monday whereas I am looking forward to Friday when he is back home safe and sound.

The wee one arrived safe and sound at his destination for his adventure week with the school. Hope he enjoys it missing him already :( the house is so so quiet without him shouting MUM can you bring me up a drink or just shouting MUM ... He will love it and hopefully will realise just how much me and his Dad do for him not that I'm complaining wish I could hear MUM or DAD getting shouted now ;) His big brother is in his room playing his PS4 so don't think he is missing him at all

My happy thought..

At work, my job seems to be increasingly revolving around Macs, OSX and iOS support. As a result of this, I've been given permission to book myself on a course so I can become an Apple Certified Technical Coordinator . A course that will cost the Uni £2,300. Just need the company to return my calls now.

Also, another happy thought.

The other day, I lost a very nice set of Sennheiser earphones. Searched the house high and low, and didn't find them. Last night, I went online and ordered replacements, then moved my quilt and they fell out. Cancelled my order, which will save another few quid.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

When I was born I had what looked like a bruise on the back of my head, about the size of a 20p piece. As I got older and my hair darkened and it became hidden from view. My parents told me it was a birthmark and after a few years it was covered by a patch of white pigment-less hair. The rest of my hair went very dark and in school my nickname was Painter as the white bit looked like a blob of paint and I hated it.

When I hit 20 and started to go bald the only good thing about it was I hoped the bald spot would eventually spread cause the white bit to fall out. This happened obviously but I didn't realise the birthmark was still there, hidden all these years. It was really noticeable as it was the size of a small lemon but it didn't bother me too much as it was a case of 'out of sight out of mind'.

Fast forward about 10 years and after shaving my head with electric clippers I started wet-shaving it to get it completely bald but I was worried about cutting in to the birthmark. I went to see my GP who told me it wasn't a birthmark but a large mole. I panicked as up until then I used sunbeds a lot and my doctor advised me to never do so again and I complied. As for cutting in to it he just advised me to be careful and go around it if I could and I managed it fine up until about a year ago when I sliced in to it really badly. I went back to my GP and he scheduled me in to have the whole thing removed.

Phase one was in September, because it was so large they couldn't do it in a single sitting to they cut out about 40% and left it to heal.

Today I went back for the 2nd phase and they got rid of just about all of it and because of how large the remains were the stitches are a bit firm and now the right side of my head is so tight I feel like Tom Jones after his 9th facelift. Still, happy it's all been taken care of and once the stitches come out I can get on with wet-shaving my head properly with no worries about cutting in to it :)

My 'happy' today is getting free tickets to the Ideal Homes Exhibition in June. First time it has been held at the newish Events Centre near to where we live so am looking forward to see what it will be like.

Now if only I could get free tickets to the new Sea Life centre that would really make my day. Seeing my Grandson's face when he is surrounded by fish swimming all around him is something I am looking forward to. https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2014/05/8.gif

On impulse we decided to book a four day stay in Brixham Monday to Thursday next week for us, so we can try and chill out prior to (hopefully) moving house. :)

Brixham is a beautiful place Tinky and our family have fond memories of going there before.

Thank you Den, Nashville & Weenie, been there before it certainly is a lovely place very near Paignton and Torquay which we love. We will stop off at Totnes on the way up and have a bite to eat, hope the weather is kind. :)

We had relations that used to stay in Ottery St Mary and we loved going there and spent some days. In Exmouth Dawlish and Sidmouth and all these places were beautiful

Kind of a happy thought for someone else.

I have a couple of tickets going spare, each admitting two people, to the Olympia International Art & Antiques Fair. The fair runs from 6th to 15th June (one of the tickets is also for the Preview Day on 5th June) so if you are into Art & Antiques I can highly recommend this prestigious fair if only to have your mind boggled by some of the price tags. :D

If anyone fancies visiting Olympia please send me a PM.

You can see the blurb at http://www.olympia-art-antiques.com/homepage

It's always nice to get presents but like you dilli I like giving just as much and to see the delight on the face of the person in receipt. Glad Natalie is well chuffed :)
