Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
funny some areas get 8 downstreams before everyone even has 5.
did you go straight from 4 to 8 or already had 5? |

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
March April here too in Cambridge, i need an upgrade here as packet loss is terrible at peak times.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
thanks, im guessing I will go straight from 4 to 8 as well.
your graph looks significantly improved although after any outage there is likely modems still offline so not a true picture yet. |
Now thats fast service :)
Virgin upgrade superfast.. chug chug chug
Doubling everyone's speed is a pretty big job - we've got over 4 million Virgin Media customers who will receive double speeds, but rest assured, my fittest, fastest engineers will be in your area between October and June 2013 and going as fast as they can. |
Re: Now thats fast service :)
ouch, I would just put it to the back of your mind. I like getting excited about things and look forward to them but having to wait another year and a half is just torture.

Re: Now thats fast service :)
Ive not even got the new upload speeds, and I have to wait untill October too

Re: Now thats fast service :)
My 10 to 20 MB is scheduled for Oct to Jul 2013 too. I think this just means they don't have a clue when you'll be upgraded. It's all marketing cobblers announced way in advance of when anybody will get anything in order to try and retain customers.
tbh i'm not really bothered. 10 to 20MB isn't going to change my life. 10MB is more than enough for what most people would ever want to do. I can download a DVD's worth of data in 75 mins, an album in under 10mins. I've got 4 pc's in the house (including a gaming son), work laptop, Wii networked, mobiles wified, blue ray networked and rarely have any issues. On the rare occasion i get speed managed 2/3MB is ample for most things including HD iplayer. Reliability is far more important, and touch wood i always get a rock solid 10MB. Higher speeds seem to be more hit and miss. God only knows what people do with 100MB +. Probably exactly the same things, waste of money imho. Think it's lads 'how fast is yours' inferiority complex type of thing. Look at how many saddo's on here put speed test results in there signatures etc, there's is more to life....... |

You have a winning way with words, don't you? ;)
