Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Just got my order sorted a short while ago. Was on the phone for best part of an hour though (most of the time on hold - before spekaing to anyone, then confirming delivery and then confirming something else lol). That recorded message sounds a bit mucked up.

Ordered an upgrade to VIP 50 + Sky HD Premium on the 2nd box = £107.55. Only worked out 56p dearer than adding Tivo my existing package so I thought the extra 30mb was worth 56p lol. Install set for next Wednesday.

I got that and was a little concerned as I was giving credit caed details over the phone and it was very strange to get mentions of BT and Talk talk on a virgin call centre.

I was assured it was OK but the CS rep wanted me to be fully assured and passed meover to his manager after taking my order, who explained it should have ben a full message comparing VM to BT and Talk Talk prices, but it had some how got truncated.

Anyway, my card payments are showing up on My Virgin media, so it wasn't the opposition diverting my call :D

Sorry to quickly go off topic:

Few uses mark out the Americanness of a person more readily than their natural use of got and gotten as alternative past participles of get. (These uses are also spreading to Australia and New Zealand, as some of the examples given below will show.) Gotten is no longer used in Britain (except in ill-gotten), although it was once in regular use. .

I'm actually doing probably the worst thing possible and just waiting for the email to arrive, which it hasn't yet. I don't want to be seen as jumping the queue or anything. However, being what feels like the last person to receive the email is killing me inside... (of course that was a joke, but it's annoying, trust me)

What's worse is there are actually people who have gotten the email before me and hate TiVo and are just slagging it off. Why must they tease me! I heard that they were sending out these emails in reverse order from VIP, to XL and then L. I'm on XL. I feel as though someone has misplaced my email! There's still another day left, I'll have to wait tomorrow now too!

I read the question as if they were talking about them keeping both existing boxes and adding TiVo. If you swap one of the boxes for TiVo on VIP 50 the price shouldn't change

Thanks for clarifying :)

Happy that I have got my TiVo booked for next Thursday. Gutted that I have lost my loyalty discount in the process. Has anyone else had this problem

Why did you lose your loyalty bonus?

They said that taking TiVo starts a new contract. I asked to speak to billing and the confirmed my £22.00 loyalty had now gone. I was under the impression that it would only cost £3.00 more for tivo.

I checked that I kept my loyalty discount, and was assured that I would (and I have the time/date of call, and the TiVo Team member's name).

Just check it out with the when you order. I phoned three times after booking and got told three versions of what my monthly bill would be. I am sure people just make up as they go along.

That is very interesting Hugh.

It should be written in your account notes so that they all sing from the same songsheet.

That is very interesting Hugh.

I had a slight problemette with billing when I upgraded to the 30Mb SuperHub, and neither CS or Retentions were able to resolve it - they passed me on to the CEO's office, who, after a brief discussion, agreed to resolve the issue (I didn't ask for additional discounts/recompense, just the status quo).

Those notes were on my file, and the people I spoke to noted that I did not wish a re-occurrence of the "misunderstanding".:)

I was informed it was a new 12 month contract, but I have no issue with that.

Well I am not sure why the confusion then. Is it correct that the discount should be lost. I was told discount was very high and that TiVo is a new product.

Slightly worrying. Have had problems with my bill before with Virgin.

Dont want it installed and tied into another contract to find out at the end of the month im paying loads more!
