I'm also getting a tiny tiny bit of packet loss, about 0.2%

At the risk of repeating myself, changing your dns will not help with web browsing, since the proxy servers use their own dns servers (ntl's).

No it doesn't. You are just seeing pages that are stored on the proxy server.

I think it is slowing coming back, ebay works but no graphics.

Yes, it does. I just tried it.

Pages randomly fail to load, images don't load on default nott one. Change proxy and bam, it works.

nope

The proxy is transparent (unless you have it manually) which means it intercepts traffic on port 80.

What happens when you request a page is you perfom a DNS query first, then using that IP send the header information via port 80 (which is intercepted)

Bearing in mind this does not hold if you set your server manually in the internet options.

Thanks
Dan

Well I say FCUK it for tonight. I'll see if it's any better tomorrow.

If not I'll be on at NTL and when they tell me there's not been any problems I'll fax them all the pages from this thread. LOL LOL;)

Nighties All

limited at best, mate. I have tried loads of proxies. Changing proxy won't matter if the DNS servers are borked.

True. At least it helps with web traffic.

Can someone post a link to a list of ntl proxies? I can't get on Google to find one!
