I wish for us older tech guys they just called the ONT a modem which technically it is just a fibre modem instead of a DSL modem or a Coaxial Modem. Remember years ago when you got sent a USB Modem by Openreach suppliers? and had to set up an AD Hoc network because you could not connect it to router? (I also know technically it does not need to modulate and demodulate because it is digital to digital but it still converts light to electrical and back again ) |
