Death toll rises to 8. A body has been found in the River Thames. A French National, who was said to have been knocked by the Terrorist van and went over the Bridge in to the Thames.

interestingly according to the news on R4 this morning

The third attacker had been entered by Italian authorities onto the Schengen database. He'd been stopped once entering the UK because of it, but was allowed through on the 2nd time.

Oh, and guess what we lose our current access level too when we leave the EU....

When they say he got let in the 2nd time are we sure he was even checked? Something like being a passenger in a car on a busy day could have meant someone just glanced at a passport and waved 'em though.

I'm sure if the eu want to play childish games like that we can reciprocate.

Ship a bunch of ne'er do wells over to them without warning them.

Sadly, these types of incidents don't look to be going away anytime soon. On the one hand the mantra is that we will carry on as normal and not let the terrorists win, yet we are highlighting the incidents and giving them publicity for weeks afterwards by doing things like disrupting the TV schedule and televising benefit concerts.

As a result of all this publicity, retail spending is down as people are afraid to go out and spend, which benefits nobody.

As these incidents are now happening with such regularity, perhaps the only time that they should be referred to is on the news, otherwise we are playing right into the hands of these terrorists?? Is there even a case for news blackouts to deprive them of the oxygen of publicity?? The problem with this is that I'm sure the news reports helped to evacuate the affected parts of London last weekend.

It's a difficult balancing act between carrying on as normal, whilst letting those who have been personally affected know that people care and that they have their support.

Schengen is linked to the passport and an alarm is triggered to the agent checking the passport in question

I don't understand this post...

There's a legal statute about who has access and to what level of access they possess. If we as a country decide that we don't want to be part of that, then we can't really accuse the EU of playing unfairly can we?

At an incredibly simplistic level, It's like deciding not to pay for your car insurance and then not understanding why your policy has been cancelled.

Very clever:

Jihadis are cleverly evading the authorities by appearing in documentaries about jihadis with the word jihadi in the title

Just another attack by Islamist terrorist nutters who're impervious to reason in spite of what terrorist sympathisers like Corbyn would have us believe. There is no easy way to combat this form of attack or indeed the numerous other options these people have so we're going to have to get used to it whilst the security services redouble their efforts to track and intercept these madmen and women.

Anyone who thinks we're more at risk as a result of Brexit is nuts. There's no logical reason why the EU should cut off its nose to spite its face.
