Re: Euro 2016 thread
I still think England would play better against bigger teams. England are dominating games but the scorelines are failing to reflect that. I just think tonight we're a bit more open for them to hit back at us. I think Rooney offers more than Wilshere.
As good as they are for their clubs I honestly don't think Lallana, Henderson or Wilshere should be starting. |
Re: Euro 2016 thread
Wilshere is vastly over-rated in my opinion while Lallana is a fair-weather player and Henderson is just plain ordinary and why is he taking the corners and free kicks as well..

Re: Euro 2016 thread
England playing for the Draw, and wanting to obviously play Spain.
So 1 match left then :( |
Re: Euro 2016 thread
I forgot England had a game as well :D

Re: Euro 2016 thread
Who's the more foolish...the fool Hodgson or the fools who follows Hodgson.

Re: Euro 2016 thread
Simply playing the price for a questionable line up. Wilshere and Henderson have been hopeless and its a half of football too late to bring Rooney on. Harry Kane is having a tournament to forget so far. For all the domination, 1 shot on target is shocking.
Its also worth pointing out England are yet to play a team that aren't just content on playing inside their own box. Still a lot tonsee when we play a team that hasn't claimed squatters rights on one end of the pitch. |

Who could England face? Finishing as Group B runners-up, England will now face the second-placed team in Group F in Nice on Monday (20:00 BST). That could well be Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal - who knocked England out of consecutive tournaments, at Euro 2004 and at the 2006 World Cup. However, Austria, Hungary and Iceland can all still finish second - with Group F's final matches to be played on Wednesday. |
Re: Euro 2016 thread
I honestly thought that l was watching a Sunday league game. We were shocking. We had TWO shots on target - Alli, who had just come on and Vardy.
I honestly cannot believe what Hodgson is doing. Its true on ITV, they were saying why change the back four. In the game, you have to have a settled team, you pick your team and that's it. You dont change it. Hodgson said that he made the changes, as he had a big squad. How stupid. The fans got that bored, they were calling for Rooney, he came on a did nothing. Every ball was going over the bar, And then at the end there were boo's. We are going to face tougher teams if we go further. I think that Wales are going to do well in the Euros. And good luck to them. England, sorry the sooner they come home the better. |

Tonight they didn't have Rooney to supply and suffered in my opinion and failed to create those chances. With Rooney on in the previous games, Harry Kane was so one dimensional it was impossible to put him on the end of anything. That forced the change against Wales and to no surprise both Sturridgrle and Vardy were in and about the area. Its simple stuff. Rooney starts with Sturridge and Vardy. I like Kane. He's a great striker but hes had about 4 halves of football roughly and he's never looked like producing anything. He's never in the right place for a chance and he never looks like creating his own. Rooney can take and create chances from anywhere. He did against Russia bar a quite brilliant save and again bar defender blocks and whatnot his shots are generally on target. Add that to two agile and mobile targets in Vardy and Sturridge and I feel you're offered better options than just playing Kane in the middle alone. Who knows though. Kane hasn't had that chance to play alongside a second finisher. Maybe he's just isolated. I've always hated one striker lineups. I think these lads would suit playing against better teams. Having that underdog feeling spurring them on. At the minute there's really no team that's scaring me. Give us Portugal, in their state I bet England flatten them. |
