The rumours swirling around TimeWarner are just that. But closer to hand, a revolution is promised at the BBC.

On that "Murdoch to buy TimeWarner" rumour, it seems just to be a rumour with little substance: http://variety.com/2014/biz/news/goo...er-1201260050/. Google buying TimeWarner? Hmmm, that's been tried before (AOL, at the time a huge internet company, bought TW back in 2000) and that is widely regarded as an absolute disaster.
The only TW channels broadcasting in the UK are CNN, Cartoon Network, Boomerang and TCM. There's no reason to believe that their future carriage on VM would be under any kind of threat even if Fox were to successfully buy TW.

Had to change my avatar to bring balance to the forum :-)

Anyway, hopefully the HD channels launch next week as per the rumours.

This is a bit off track, sorry guys, but has anyone heard anymore about VM and PS4 partnership? It seemed to have gone quiet on that front.

Yes, and this could be significant :gpoint: Only about 7 months later than expected! ;)

Virgin media would be jumping up and down celebrating if they'd got Atlantic? So surely not. Maybe future planning though? Though I continue to state that sky need to come and be reasonable to the table. It's on now tv it's no longer exclusive. Should be more reasonable

VM would be subject to an embargo on this if it were to be agreed. This is sensitive for Sky, so you can expect there to be a discreet introduction if the miracle were to happen. If it doesn't happen now, it probably never will!

I was extremely optimistic about Sky Atlantic being added to the VM offer last autumn, but the continuing delay does make one wonder what on Earth is going on. It would be extremely disappointing if Liberty Global were not going all out for this channel, and both sides were reported as being more realistic late last year.

Well, not long to wait to see whether there has been a good outcome to all of this.

But before anyone gets their hopes up, The Guardian was reporting a couple of months ago that SA was not part of the deal.

http://www.theguardian.com/media/201...l-sky-atlantic

Virgin Media has struck a five-year deal to carry BSkyB's TV channels – but once again failed to reach agreement to offer Sky Atlantic, home to big name shows including Game of Thrones.
