So Sky spend much more on a few TV adverts than VM spends sending letters through my door a few times a week. If only Virgin had spent the difference to provide a better service for their suffering customers.

Not a lot that can be done about targeted ads on the tv unless there is a separate ad server you can block, which isn't going to be likely.

I do wonder how good the targeting will actually be and if it is worth advertisers paying more for it. If they did it by when you changed channel and by catchup/on demand it would make more sense than all programmes you watch. If you went out all day and left it on a channel you don't normally watch, would they count those programmes as something you watch for example.
