login to your routers web intereface and look for respond to ping within the services tabs or firewall. im not too sure about linksys. Generals the man to ask.

Its usually listed as Respond to ICMP packets. You want it to do this.

na, under security and then firewall it is "filter anonymous internet requests". By fefault it is disabled but on my new router I enabled it as a security precaution and I havent suffered any ill affect because of it.
