And once again l am NOT racist.

How do you know the people taking action aren't brits. Or are you automatically assuming they aren't british for one reason or another. I'd be interested to know your reasoning.

I do know of occassions where white (I assume that's what you mean when you say "Brit") English people have taken action for racist comments directed at them.

Unfortunately, I can't provide links, as the press tend not to report racism directed toward white English people, or any action that happens as a result.

Be careful saying "Brit" though, as a large chunk of the population, although British, is not actually white.

I presume you mean that they were caught and charged? Not that the guy was stabbed?

Police have charged a man with assault after an alleged fare-dodger was removed from a train by a passenger.

Meanwhile the student accused of fare dodging, 19-year-old Sam Main from Falkirk, has also been reported to the procurator fiscal, which decides whether to prosecute alleged crimes in Scotland.
Bit of a pickle for the PF. Do they proceed with a very minor assault charge against a (presumably) decent member of the public with little or no pre-cons just because its a high profile case? Or do they get the red pen out and sent the file to the shredder and tell Mr Pollok not to do it again?

How many times have we bought two tickets to go onto a train, and then found out that they are not valid.

I went from Richmond to White Hart Lane, and found out that my ticket (which l honestly bought fore the total journey) was not valid from Liverpool Street to WHL despite me clearly telling the guy at the station thats wehere l was going.

I suspect the big man may be getting a stern warning. But if it goes to trial, I don't know where on the scale assault is ... Will he have the option of facing a jury? I doubt any jury would convict him.

I suspect his job and future employment will be under threat, that the wee lad will be compensted for the assault and that the conductor will be disciplined.

Simple assault? Sheriff only in all but the most extreme cases.
