Re: 3d tv
I'm still not sure about 3DTV yet, the price is way over the top for one, and I've seen a few films at the cinema in 3D and at the start of the film I did think wow, but by half way through I had to take a break from it and wished I was watching the film in 2D. I also didn't like the lack of colour when using the glasses.
I'm sure it'll appeal to some, and I reckon gaming might be a laugh on it, but I still think it's too much of a gimmick and I reckon the novelty of it all would wear off quite quickly for me. So I reckon unless the price comes right down or when it's the norm for a TV to be able to view 3D (years away or never), I don't think I'll be considering one. |

Re: 3d tv
Will 3D TV succeed?
The Register has an interesting opinion piece on it. Basically they are saying that they think it might not. Apparently it will happen purely because the TV companies are going to have to build support in in case their competitors do, and people may show more interest when there is more content available. Their reasons for suggesting it might not? Twofold. 1) Apparently in surveys, customers have shown more interest in Internet connections than 3D. 2) There is apparently anecdotal evidence that 3D in cinema is not doing as well as expected, which would suggest that people aren't going to see 3D films after the novelty value has worn off. http://www.reghardware.com/2010/07/0...or_fails_3dtv/ |
