Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
Geez. The Americans keep putting far too much on their passing.

Draw. Well done the United States, Good result for them. Shame Green's howler is what gave them that one goal though. |

I kind of want America to do well, so prefer they got the draw against us rather than the other two in the group.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
so what do people think about englands chances now

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
I wasn't that confident before the WC and i'm even less now.
Cappello demonstrates baffling and extremely poor formation and tactical nous. 1. Completely fresh and untested line up? Check 2. Heskey starting when he scores and spends most of his time offside or on the floor? Check 3. Bringing off Milner and putting a poor RW on in LW instead of someone like Joe Cole? Check. 4. Routing everything through the middle and left when Lennon is our most dangerous player for assists? Check. We were poor in preparation (even our qualification flattered us) and poor today. If we do make it through the group stages we won't go much further. Any half decent team like Spain or Holland would have torn us apart. What a waste of time and emotion. |

Well yeah 4-4-2 has been done before but as Adrian Chiles said, those 11 have never played together before in those positions.
I have not been convinced about Capello for a long time. He's just... baffling. |

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
The HD fault was annoying! I also think there were too many replays of incidents that just made watching the game totally confusing at times, and whose idea was it to promote those effin horns!? :td:
I believe the England team of 66' drew in their first match and yet went on to win the tournament. ;) |
Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
the guardian report claims it wasn't the feeds fault which I believe too, The ad that came up was an ITV Hyundai official sponser ad, that would only happen here in the uk, as for the game following, the main camera in the stands was not hd at all, wheras the close ups and pitchside cams were.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
To me it looked like the HD feed failed around 10 mins in. ITV wasn't in HD for the rest of the evening - James Corden's show was suppose to be in HD too but obviously wasn't. No DOG (digital onscreen graphic) in the corner and the DOG never came back. I guess I will have to wait until later today to see if it has been restored.
BBC HD was fine though - One major thing on my SA V+HD box is that the audio has been turned up quite a lot on this channel and actually distorts on my TV! can they turn it down - even if only by 10%?!!! Oh... do I get compen for missing the goal due to an advert? I bet not... I am ex-TW on the Gateshead feed. |
