As per my post maybe I don't watch TV :p and hence don't get exposed to

" News breaks " " Flash messages " " Adverts "

that you have to endure :D

One last question : For those of us who live on the moon can we get Skynews via freeview or has that never been an option ?

You can get it at the moment but they are going to remove it from there as well in a few months so not really worth going out to buy a box.

VM and Sky may work it out, it hurts them both as Sky will lose millions in lost advert viewing, have to wait and see. :juggle:

I don't know maybe you should get out once in a while and enjoy life without TV.

I certainly have a much better quality of life since I stopped watching the box.

TV is a complete waste of time - even the news - why wash your brain with information that you did not want in the first place ? Why let OTHER people control and even influence what you BELIEVE is ethically right or wrong ?

Seems silly to be spoon fed something that you don't have NO control over in terms of the content being delivered.

I mean I had no woes or worries simply because I did not know of the sky/VM rift. I'm sure if I had knowledge of it then maybe I would have given it thought/worried ?

Alas the event as happened and we have lost Sky - So what ? there was nothing you could have done about it.. So why worry ? -

At least I have come out of this unscathed simply because I did not have to worry about it :)

I've been meaning to get sky's freesat package and wack it into by network with a DVB-S card paired with a legal decoder.

But its very low down on my list of priorities I can live without sky for a few months no problemo.

That was a point I was trying to make earlier.

You buy a TV to enable you to watch many channels, not just the BBC. So when you pay for your TV license (i.e. the right to watch any channel), why does your money not go to all the channels, but only the BBC?

It seems you are paying for the right to watch BBC, not the right to watch your telly.

Trust me the government would find a way to tax tv, at least this way you get the BBC thrown in for your money

Actually......this thread isn't so much about the lost channels but more about the TV licensing costing £12 a month and all Sky wanted was another 50p a month for their channels.
Personally I would be happy to just have a bit of VoD and I'd watch an hour as I chill out before bed. I don't need all the BBC soap and drama crud.
TV's just a bit of escapism for me.

Yeh sorry for hijacking the thread but just saw the title - read a little bit - and just wanted confirmation that we had lost Sky only to get replies like

" Where have you been for the last few days "

Well at least I know now.

Cheers

maybe not for long ( though too long for me well unless they sort in 30 days lol as i have jumped ship ) if cancellations is anything to go by as they offered almost their souls to keep me ( eventually got me to keep BB for £10 a month ) so that they could ( in their own words ) put me back on my package if sky was back soon

read into that what you may
