What New Labour have done is to borrow excessively to preserve their spending lifestyle in the same way that credit card junkies have lots of credit cards so that they can enjoy a great lifestyle by paying off their cards with payments from other cards. Eventually, however, they do end up with problems. To illustrate the point, I wanted to buy a new camcorder and had a specific model in mind the Sony PC120-E. I surfed the net and found that it was possible at one place to buy it for £1200 but somewhere else I could buy exactly the same camera for £800. The £1200 represents the New Labour philosophy of investing more funds but the £800 represents Conservative's value for money at a cheaper cost philosophy. The specifications on the camera represent the service being provided which is the same in both cases except that New Labour's camera cost £400 more. It's probably true that whoever gets in, taxes will go up, but the revenue raised will be spent more wisely by the Conservatives ( or indeed by the Lib Dems) that it will be by New Labour, which was millions on the Millenium Dome and wasted Lottery money. |

You cannot spend 500£ on something else because you saved 400£ on a £800 camera that was going to cost 1200£ without increasing your borrowing further, and to boot he says he can and while doing it he would achieve it taking a pay drop from the country with less taxes. The guy makes no sense what so ever and if he plans on winning a country over with such foolish statements he has about as much chance of building millenium dome #2. In my book their bs promises are written on paper not fit to wipe any persons ass with, they will say anything to try and get their way and when questioned they will all avoid a direct answer allways. This has been proved time and time again no matter who is in office. |

It should have been an object lesson to New Labour on how not to run a government. Instead New Labour took the Conservative sleaze and turned it into an art form, paying large salaries and pensions to lots of people who didn't deserve them at the expense of the taxpayer. Maybe it is time to give the Lib-Dems a chance as they are the only party whuich hasn't had a chance to cock things up. |
