Nope ,i was speaking to some pals yesterday who are life long season ticket holders and they will not be renewing theirs(or so they say;)).They feel that Ashley was just starting to connect with the fans and then he just tears up all the work he has done .Have you seen Sir John Halls comments ?

It's not "Shearers Bar" anymore they removed the name ,it's going to be called '9' not quite the same ring to it

We seriously have no idea where Mike Ashley is going with all of this.

Alan Shearer's name was ripped from the Bar in the gallowgate end hours after a verbal attack on Mike Ashley.

I don't understand neither. are people exiting because Ashley doesnt want to invest further? does he want to instead fight at a level but at the sametime become a feeder club ££££££

edit: club debt has been cut has it not?

Essentially yes, the club debt is not payable to anyone but Mike Ashley so the club is essentially debt free and anyone who wished to buy the club would pay e.g £250 million for the club, £150m value and £100m owed to Mike Ashley.

An interesting comment to Sir John Hall's comments:

Quote:

John

You sold up to this creature, who you said would take the club to another level.

What is he doing...He doesn't know, he doesn't care...you told him he could vacuum money from the captive fan-base just as you and Shepherd did.

You built a Castle with the words 'we've built the stage, now its up to the players to perform', you don't build a stage like this for a pub team!

Why did Ashley start by frequenting the bars in town...because you sold him a dream of a populist owner, your sales pitch of European nights after Barcelona, his dream died when the cost was realised, and the bill for the construction work landed on his desk. The fans wanted the entertainers back, and it started with Keegan on your recommendation,

Wise and Jimenez didn't get it though, and the rest has been cold war. You left him with a bill to pay, remember Cameron-Hall, the long term mortgage for the construction work... £100 million, payable to you... with interest!

He's having a go at the fans, and employs only Londoners just to rub it in, and make his point.

The 'Sir John Hall Stand' has been renamed...not out of respect for tradition.
A different side of the Shearer's Bar renaming:

Quote:

ALAN SHEARER has had his name ripped away from St James’ Park — hours after his scathing attack on the current Newcastle regime.
The Toon legend used his SunSport column to blast owner Mike Ashley and his appointment of director of football Joe Kinnear.
And today it was announced that the stadium’s iconic Shearer’s Bar will be renamed Nine after his shirt number.
The club were quick to play down the move, stating it was merely a coincidence and part of an overhaul of the venue which opened in 2004.
But fans saw it as yet another antagonising move from under-fire supremo Ashley.
Michael Martin, editor of Toon fanzine True Faith, said: “There is absolutely no reason for the renaming of Shearer’s Bar.”
Fan Graeme Dawson blasted: “Renaming Shearer’s Bar is an absolute disgrace.”
Former Sky Sports host Richard Keys tweeted: “Childish. Outrageous. Small minded. Insulting. I could go on.
“Enough Mike Ashley. Alan Shearer is the living embodiment of Newcastle Utd.”

Doesn't wind me up. I think the ticket prices are where some of Arsenal's money should be going (I.e to reduce it) that said these comparisons are usually disingenuous as some clubs include cup matches as part of their ticket (Arsenal include 8 cup/champions league games) and others don't.

City's £299 is also perhaps misleading.

It is correct, but these "value gold" tickets are very limited in no. and you don't get to choose where u sit, so it's only for single blokes who aren't fussed about where they sit and don't have someone to sit next to.

My ticket on near half way line level 1 for this year is £665 plus £50 for "platinum" = double loyalty pts = priority = £715.

The Poyet story has leaked, seems like Ashley's plan is now in the public eye.

The guy on twitter was clearly referring to this but had the timescale wrong, it's evidently clear now that Poyet will be offered the Newcastle job should Alan Pardew walk which seems inevitable with constant press and the mammoth Kinnear breathing down his neck. If Pardew could make a case of it, he could then go on to sue Newcastle United for constructive dismissal.

For those unaware, Cardiff have a long-standing insecurity/tradition of anything the Swans do, Cardiff must do bigger/better. So I am expecting a film about them in a few years starring Tom Cruise about how they were the first Welsh team to make it to the PL.

Seems we spent 40 million last year on players.. well according to the usual tabloids. How do they get away with selling that crap? Unless it was all these new players like Kebab and Ben afri. Also Mike Ashley has stated there's no funds this year without even moving his lips! We'd love to know what's actually going on but until the tabloids get bored of correcting Joe Kinnear we're stuck with the prospect of signing immense talent handpicked by a footballing dinosaur. The second Ashley out era has begun.

Southampton are currently embroiled in a row over the agent’s fee demanded to seal Victor Wanyama’s move from Celtic. Saints were at the bottom of the money table, spending just £646,106 for the ENTIRE campaign.

Tevez is still ok..but I think he wants away, and best for all

As to a replacement, not sure.

My issue with city was the way they played, so some fresh blood and more attractive football would do me.

I never get overly excited about winning, as long as the football is done with style.

I always liked watching arsenal play. But they dropped standards by getting indifferent players.

Never liked the 1-0, hence was happy mourinho didn't come, as I seem to remember his football was dire at times. They won, but I didn't enjoy it.

That said, they have a nice mid-field, so who knows, might play some decent football.
