I don't have anyone on my friends list that i play with so it wouldn't affect me i don't think, although i will give out my gamer tag when i get the console on here again, but with working shifts most people are at work when i play.

Smart match
http://news.xbox.com/2013/07/games-smartmatch-feature If you are playing Forza from a disk and you are waiting for a game of Ghosts once a game Ghosts is ready you have to get up and take out Forza disk and put in Ghosts disk before you can play |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
That will never be a problem for me as i won't be waiting for things like that, as i work too much for that and only play 1 game at a time.
Do you intend to buy all your games digital even if they cost £50-£60 a game? :) I havent played a racing game online in years and after seeing a Forza video i think that will be a game to purchase from Play Asia or similar. :) |

You don't even need to change your Router/DNS properties to gain access to XBL US. I have a gamertag that's US region based and has access to all the US content as well as my Modified UK tag which has access to UK stuff. I've never made purchases via card on the US account but have made purchases via paypal then card. With the release of the X1 I doubt anything is going to change that much, the XBL dash is a constant work in progress and will continue over to X1 with the only updates being Kinect functionality, maybe some additional security features and the new features Microsoft are implementing. |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
If you guys could chose 3 xbox One games you plan to purchase which games would these be?
For me i am looking at getting Titan Fall, Battlefield 4 and Forza but i may change this as there seems so many interesting games coming out at launch or in 2014 that i am looking forward to trying. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I think that'd be my games.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I am hoping that Battlefield 4 is in 1080p but seeing that the PS4 version isn't i am guessing it will be the same with this console.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
With you adding titanfall in to the mix which isn't a release title if go titanfall , sunset overdrive and battlefield 4

Titanfall, Forza and ghosts

Re: The Xbox One Thread
I agree too and i was on the fence for ages thinking of getting the PS4 based on its hardware, however after watching a few game demos like Titan Fall and Forza 5 and the fact i always prefered the Xbox 360 controller over the dual shock and with the exciting impulse rumble feature, i think(hope) i made the right chose.
I would love to buy all my games digital too, but i am unlikely to do that as the cost of importing a disk version is currently far cheaper. Strangely there seems to be very little news about the PS4 these days even though it is outselling the Xbox One by a large margin. |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Sony have been very clever with what they say. I was watching a podcast the other day and it mentioned that you can download a game using an app on your phone or using the PSN website and it'll turn your PS4 on and download your game for you. What they didn't mention though was that the PS4 is always-on, which it must be in order to use that feature.

Tesco have now sold out of the Day One Edition, i am glad i got my order in in time, but i also have concern that there won't be enough units to go around.
I now have to work out which 2 games i want to import and where to import them from. Best import site suggestions if anyone has any? I currently know of Play Asia. ---------- Post added at 17:53 ---------- Previous post was at 16:59 ---------- Edit I have just read up on Import Taxes, is this really something that i will end up paying on every game i import because 5 years ago i never got charged any tax when importing from CDWOW and Play-Asia? |

Does anyone have any info on the cost for digital downloads as i am close to buying the disk version of Battlefield 4 for £42 and £45 for Forza 5?
Edit I think i just answered my own question and i don't like the result......... Black Ops 2 for X360 = £49.99 on Xbox Live but only £23 on Amazon, now if that is how digital downloads will be on X1 then i don't think they will take off anytime soon unless the person buying doesn't care about their wallet. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread

Microsoft charge premium prices for Digital Downloads and take you for a ride. An example would be the game Rainbow Six Vegas, classic game and sells for about £9 new or as low as £3 used. Microsoft see fit to charge up to £19.99 and only go as low as £14.99 for a game that's years old. To make this idea really take off there's no other way to do it but copy Steam. At the end of the day though games will still be cheaper and look better on a PC. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Yes all true, i think Rainbow Six is £11.99 now to download and it it will be free this month as part of games on gold.

Kinect placement was a concern I had... From the early photos we saw it looked like a beast, but I saw a side by side recently and it's pretty much the same size as the current Kinect. The new one doesn't move, so you should just be able to hang it on top of the TV...hopefully... |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I will place it under the TV, i really don't want it on top, so if i can get away with sitting on top of the V+ then that would be good. :)

I just hope the games look nextgen on my TV and are as good as the PS4. It seems the Xbox maybe alot closer to the PS4 in power than previously thought, and from what i have seen most Xbox One games are running at 1080P/60 compared to the PS4s 30 frames a second( not sure why that is), but i am no fanboy and from what i have seen from the Xbox One/ps4 demos the games look awesome on both consoles. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
There's going to be disappointing sales all round and I'm happy with that. I'm not going to be duped into £500 to play a so called Next-Gen FIFA 14 on either new console. They didn't use the ignite engine for the current gen for this reason regardless of the fact all consoles can run it. Call of Duty will be the same and so on.
GTA V and Rockstar have got it totally right by dropping it on this gen of consoles and not the newer ones. Top sales and a record breaker. Come E3 next year MS and Sony will base their entire conferences on price drops and new games. Guaranteed. ---------- Post added at 17:05 ---------- Previous post was at 17:02 ---------- Quote:
It also does not help the case when Microsoft insist on playing their games on a GTX 780 and calling it Xbox One footage. It's easy enough to say GTA V will look better than most NG titles on launch but again it's obvious why. Rockstar are not stupid and we'll see GTA 6 on Xbox one that looks even better when they have time to develop such a game and optimize it for that platform, the sole reason it's unlikely we'll see GTA V on the new consoles, if you're going to do it, do it properly. |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
You never know, they may give it MKV support.
People used to say that the PS3 and Xbox 360 would never get divx/xvid support, because of what those containers are usually used for, but they both got it after a while... ---------- Post added at 15:07 ---------- Previous post was at 15:07 ---------- Oh, I have cancelled my GAME pre-order for Day One + FIFA as I've got a Day One + Forza pre-order with Amazon :) |
