We'll see. It doesn't make too much sense. First of all why would United pay £20 million on a 29 year old player with injury problems when it doesn't address a key squad weakness? It's unusual for United to so publicly chase a player and risk tapping up charges from UEFA.

There is a suspicion that they were doing this because their IPO was today (and hasn't started well).

It seems United are prepared to pay £20 million it seems Damien.

That they don't make a story true. Scott Sinclair is still a Swansea player.

Of course some rumours never materialise but in this case and most likely in the case of Scott Sinclair as well they have.

Yes agreed its a excellent transfer fee but Arsenal will be the weaker for his departure and Man Utd will be the stronger as he will replace the surly Berbatov.

But these players who have arrived have to prove in time whether they will be up to the Arsenal standard as several signings in the last few years have proved to be very expensive flops.

Well you never know. Arteta was good. Koscielny was good. Vermaelen too. Some have been flops too of course but we're see. Doesn't mean we're making a mistake, every signing is a risk.

Have you got any predictions for the new season Damien as my top 6 in the Premiership would be as follows.

1/ Man Utd
2/ Man City
3/ Chelsea
4/ Arsenal
5/ Tottenham
6/ Liverpool

I'm slightly different. I think chelsea will take time to bed, but both arsenal and chelsea to fight for 3rd (but fancy arsenal)

Liverpool above tottenham. Mainly as strikers are at a premium at tottenham at the moment

And sorry, but newcastle not to have as good a season as last year

1/ Man City
2/ Man Utd
3/ Arsenal
4/ Chelsea
5/ Liverpool
6/ Tottenham

I know about Assaidi Den as I follow Eredivisie closely having worked in Holland for a few years. Not really a fan of these Youtube compliations since those who possess the editing skills could even make Paul Konchesky look like Roberto Carlos :)

He's an interesting prospect though.

No Denny. Sahin wants an Arsenal move (and I'm not just saying that) and its looking like its going to be a full transfer rather than loan. The fees proving a problem for Arsenal.

l don't think Real Madrid will allow him to go to Arsenal so l still think Liverpool are strong favourites to get him.

No one knows. The player wants Arsenal, Madrid want Liverpool and that's only according to rumours. If the player doesn't want to move he won't move so Liverpool's chances are a bit dodgy but equally if Madrid don't want to do a deal there we're stuck.

I don't understand why Liverpool thought they were favourites just because they entered the race...

Disappointed with Silva...very poor

Otherwise, lackadaisical game...should have won it..Southampton have fought well

Well that was surreal

Not the game..that was normal

It was the response to "I have aguero in my fantasy team"

It felt very much like a "I am Spartacus" moment :D

Did City win the league on the last game of last season? With Aguero scoring the winner? I'm not sure if Martin Tyler mentioned it today? How many times does he need to talk about it, it started to get a bit weird towards the end of the game...

Arsenal seem to be ok. There performance yesterday had encouraging signs. Nothing like the disarray of last season and eventually the new players will adapt to the league.
