TRIO ADDED TO MOYGLARE FIELD.

Sendmylovetorose, My Special J's and Sky Lantern have all been added to the field for Sunday's Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh.

The Andrew Oliver-trained Sendmylovetorose won the Cherry Hinton at Newmarket on her latest outing, while My Special J's claimed the Debutante Stakes for Pat Shanahan on her most recent run.
FAMILIAR NAMES IN BUMPER CUP ENTRY.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...e&sub=&day=Tue

Quote:

Dunaden and Red Cadeaux, first and second in last year's Emirates Melbourne Cup, feature among 151 entries for the Flemington showpiece on November 6.

Trained in France by Mikel Delzangles, Dunaden beat Ed Dunlop's Red Cadeaux by a nose 12 months ago.

Luca Cumani is represented by ante-post favourite Mount Athos, Ibicenco and Quest For Peace as he seeks an elusive first success in the 'race that stops a nation'.

Godolphin hopes include the Saeed bin Suroor-trained Ebor winner Willing Foe, while John Gosden can call on Gatewood, who was third to Quest For Peace at Goodwood and just denied in a Deauville Group Two.

Leicester 4.15 Madame St Clair.. jockey looked a bit weak in riding to the line.

Goodwood 2.55 Great Timing.. started really nice, felt the pace @1.5 furlong

Goodwood 4.05 Steeler. no probs, once in the open.

Goodwood 6.20 Swift Blade.. This horse motored to the front and thats where its troubles started, think they need blinkers instead of cheekpieces.

Unlucky, could have been a 4 timer...close.

BUICK REVVED UP FOR SUPER SATURDAY.

Connections of Ortensia have received a boost with the news it is "very possible" they will have the services of William Buick at Haydock on Saturday.

Trainer Paul Messara's travelling head lass Leah Gavranich admitted it would be "devastating" if Buick were not able to take the ride in the Betfred Sprint Cup, as he is also committed to partnering Nathaniel in the Irish Champion Stakes on the same day for retained trainer John Gosden.
STEELER SHOWS HIS METTLE.

Mark Johnston was handsomely rewarded for what he described as little more than an experience-gaining mission for Steeler in the Peter Willett Stakes at Goodwood.

The trainer's initial and remaining aim for his sturdy son of Raven's Pass is the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket on September 29 and he had overruled his support staff by stopping off en route for this seven-furlong Listed race.

O'SULLEVAN HAILS 'HERO' OAKSEY.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...Oaksey&day=Wed

Quote:

Sir Peter O'Sullevan led the tributes to racing pioneer Lord Oaksey, who died on Wednesday morning.

Oaksey will always be associated with his work for injured jockeys, which began when Tim Brookshaw and Paddy Farrell suffered serious injuries at Aintree in the 1963-64 jumps season. He founded the Injured Jockeys' Fund in 1964 and was chairman from 1982-2002, after which he was president.

"He was a splendid man, one of my great heroes and he found everything quite light and entertaining," said O'Sullevan, BBC's 'voice of racing' for 50 years.

Kingsgate Native has been ruled out of Saturday's Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock.

The seven-year-old won the Nunthorpe as a juvenile for John Best in 2007 before following up in the race now known as the Diamond Jubilee Stakes the following year.

He returned to training with Sir Michael Stoute after an unsuccessful stint at stud, although he could not recapture his Group One-winning form over the last couple of years.

Darley July Cup winner Mayson will miss the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock on Saturday because of a dirty scope.

Trainer Richard Fahey admitted it was a blow having to rule the four-year-old out of the six-furlong Group One.

"He just didn't scope right so we can't take a chance. It's disappointing for everyone, but I suppose that's how it goes sometimes," said the Musley Bank handler.

"Because we are not running him it shouldn't be too long. He should recover quick enough. There's the Abbaye (at Longchamp) and he's in at Ascot (Qipco British Champions Sprint) as well so we'll see."

The five-year-old entire has been beaten less than a length in four Group One races, and shattered Haydock's five-furlong course record in the Temple Stakes earlier this season.

"The ground looks like it should be in his favour, which is helpful. He's run four times at Haydock, won three times, and was beaten a nose on the other start, so hopefully he has a big chance," said Charlton.

FAIRY FLIES HOME IN CHAMPION.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Sat

Quote:

Snow Fairy gained a dazzling success over Nathaniel in the Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown.

Ed Dunlop's globe-trotting mare settled nicely for Frankie Dettori and always looked to have Nathaniel covered as John Gosden's colt was driven to overhaul pacemaker Daddy Long Legs rounding the bend into the straight.

Nathaniel hit the front, but Snow Fairy (15-8) quickened smoothly to take closer order and was always on top as the line approached, winning by a length and a quarter. St Nicholas Abbey ran a gallant race as he tried to close in third, a further three-quarters of a length adrift.
SOCIETY ROCKS IN SPRINT CUP.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Sun

Quote:

Society Rock lifted the Group One Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock Park for James Fanshawe and Kieren Fallon.

The five-year-old, winner of the Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot last year, travelled strongly off what looked just a moderate pace and got a nice run up the far rail as Fallon started to get to work inside the two-furlong pole.

Hitting the front a furlong out, the 10-1 chance ran on well to hold the challenge of Irish raider Gordon Lord Byron by three-quarters of a length, with the well-backed Bated Breath third. Aussie mare Ortensia raced much handier than when winning the Nunthorpe, but could never get in a serious blow.
STEWARDS HAND MATRON TO CHACHA.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Sun

Quote:

Duntle lost the race in the stewards' room to Sir Henry Cecil's Chachamaidee following a dramatic running of the Coolmore Fusaichi Pegasus Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.

Winner of the Sandringham at Royal Ascot and the Desmond Stakes at this track last month, Wayne Lordan had to sit and suffer on the David Wachman-trained Duntle, waiting for the gaps to come in the Group One contest.

Emulous got on top of long-time leader Laugh Out Loud late on but she was mown down by Duntle once she got in the clear, although there was some scrimmaging in the process. Chachamaidee (11-2) also finished with a rattle under Tom Queally, getting a bump on the way, but Duntle got the verdict by a short head.

A stewards' inquiry was immediately called and just before the next race it was announced the placings had been reversed.

Quote:

John Gosden is eagerly anticipating a crack at next month's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe with Nathaniel following his excellent run in defeat in Saturday's Red Mills Irish Champion Stakes.

Having won the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown on his seasonal return before going down by just a nose to Danedream when defending his crown in the King George, the four-year-old was given an easy month by his trainer.

Richard Hannon landed the big prize at the Curragh as Sky Lantern put her rivals to the sword in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes.

The grey, runner-up in the Sweet Solera at Newmarket and the Prestige at Goodwood on her last two starts, travelled in mid-division for Richard Hughes and came to challenge inside the two-furlong pole.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Thu

Quote:

Ed Dunlop has played down speculation that Snow Fairy could be re-routed from the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe to the E.P Taylor Stakes in Canada a week later.

The Newmarket trainer has stressed he is merely keeping all avenues open for his top-class mare. The Arc at Longchamp on Sunday week, in which she finished third last year, remains the target for the seven-times Group One winner, subject to ground conditions.

CERTIFY PRIMED FOR MILE TEST

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Fri

Quote:

Mahmood Al Zarooni is confident there is more to come from Certify as she puts her unbeaten record on the line in the Shadwell Fillies' Mile at Newmarket on Friday.

The daughter of Elusive Quality looked a smart recruit to the Godolphin ranks when making an impressive debut in the mud at Newmarket's July meeting and she confirmed that impression when winning the Sweet Solera Stakes at the same track. She completed her hat-trick in the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster and now returns to Headquarters, albeit running on the Rowley Mile, as she aims to grab her first Group One.

BIG TARGETS IN TELESCOPE SIGHTS

Sir Michael Stoute's Telescope entered the equation for next year's Investec Derby after a near-flawless victory at Newmarket.

Send off the 8-13 favourite after finishing second on his debut at Ascot, he needed only to be pushed out by Richard Hughes to take the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E.B.F. Maiden Stakes by two and a quarter lengths.

Coral offer 20-1 for next year's Classic, with Ladbrokes as short as 16s.

"He's a big horse with lots of scope," said Stoute.

KATE FIRED UP FOR CHARIOT

Quote:

John Gosden feels Elusive Kate is in rude health for the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.

The Clarehaven handler is wary of the competition, though, and believes this season's renewal is as good as there has been in recent years. Four of the eight fillies are already Group One winners, with another three horses having been successful at Group Two level.

CERTIFY STORMS TO FILLIES' MILE WIN

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...le+win&day=Fri

Quote:

Certify showed an impressive turn of foot to take her 100% record to four in the Shadwell Fillies' Mile at Newmarket.

Held up at the back of the field in the early stages by Mickael Barzalona, the 4-6 shot was asked for an effort and picked up in a matter of strides to go from last to first just over two furlongs out.

Mahmood Al Zarooni's charge was soon well clear and went on to score by four and a half lengths from Roz, with Amazonas third as Godolphin took this Group One prize for the third year running.

PENITENT BOUNCES BACK IN JOEL

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Sat

Quote:

Penitent (10-1) bounced back to his best form with a hard-fought win in the Nayef Joel Stakes at Newmarket.

The David O'Meara-trained six-year-old loves some cut in the ground and the rain that fell certainly helped him as Danny Tudhope had him up with the pace throughout on the far rail while Most Improved was prominent in the centre of the track.

Side Glance came out of the pack, but Penitent stuck to his task in gritty fashion to score by a neck with Premio Loco a length and a quarter back in third.
MAUREEN SET FOR CHEVELEY CHALLENGE

Quote:

Connections of Maureen report the talented filly to have benefited from a two-month absence from the track ahead of her run in the Jaguar Cars Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.

The Richard Hannon-trained filly, who is towards the head of the betting for next year's 1000 Guineas, was last seen winning the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot in late July, having earlier looked an unlucky loser of the Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket's July meeting where she was second to Sendmylovetorose.

STEELER SHOWS HIS METTLE

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...e&sub=&day=Sat

Quote:

Steeler lived up to his name with a gritty display to land the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket for trainer Mark Johnston and jockey Kieren Fallon.

Never out of the first two in four previous races, he was handy throughout off a steady pace. Frankie Dettori kicked for home on Artigiano and for a few strides he appeared to have caught Steeler flat-footed.

SUPER SIYOUMA FIRES IN CHARIOT

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...e&sub=&day=Sat

Quote:

France's domination of Newmarket's Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes continued as Siyouma ran out a ready winner for trainer Francois Doumen.

Following on from Sahpresa the last three years, Siyouma tracked the front-running Laugh Out Loud under Gerald Mosse and kicked on going into the Dip.

Elusive Kate looked a massive threat on the outside, but she could never quite get on terms with the 12-1 winner, who had three-quarters of a length in reserve at the line.

BRONZE STRIKES CAMBRIDGESHIRE GOLD

Quote:

Bronze Angel emerged a last-gasp winner of the Betfred Cambridgeshire at Newmarket.

Marcus Tregoning's three-year-old had been off the track since Royal Ascot and only crept into the race as the final 35th runner.

Having raced up the near side for three-quarters of the contest, William Buick's partner (9-1) ended up veering over to the far side to join the other prominent runners. Mull Of Killough looked to have made a decisive break on meeting the rising ground, but he was caught close home by three-quarters of a length.
QUEEN RULES IN CHEVELEY PARK

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Sun

Quote:

Rosdhu Queen maintained her unbeaten record by making just about every yard of the running in the Jaguar Park Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket.

Sent off at 4-1, having won her previous three races, including the Lowther Stakes at York, Johnny Murtagh's mount just missed the break a little, but soon recovered to head the field.

Heading into the Dip it looked as if she would be swallowed up by Lowther runner-up Baileys Jubilee, but Rosdhu Queen stuck her neck out gamely and quickened up again to win going away by a length. Winning Express stayed on strongly to take second place, while Baileys Jubilee finished third

MARENGO WINS BERESFORD BATTLE

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Mon

Quote:

Battle Of Marengo could bid to give Aidan O'Brien a seventh triumph in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster after his victory in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh.

Ballydoyle's juvenile has an encouraging profile, having built on a debut third with victories at Gowran and Leopardstown, so it was no surprise to see him sent off a prohibitive 4-9 favourite to beat three rivals on his Group-race debut.
VIZTORIA BLITZES CURRAGH RIVALS

The Curragh's Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital Blenheim Stakes was turned into a procession by the hugely impressive Viztoria.

Eddie Lynam's filly had not been seen since winning by seven and a half lengths on her introduction at Naas in July and was the 5-2 favourite stepped up in class for what looked a warm Listed race.

Johnny Murtagh was happy to let the market leader bowl along at the head of affairs and once he asked her to quicken, the response was quite taking as she pulled right away to slam Snow Queen by seven and a half lengths.

SEA SET FOR ARC OUTING

Teddy Grimthorpe has confirmed Sea Moon as a likely runner in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp on Sunday.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained four-year-old was last seen finishing fifth when sent off favourite for the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in July, but was only beaten a little over two lengths.

He looks set to renew rivalries with Danedream and Nathaniel in France this weekend and Grimthorpe, racing manager for owner Khalid Abdullah, expects Ryan Moore to be in the saddle.

Danedream's bid for back-to-back wins in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday appears over after Cologne racecourse, where she is stabled, was dramatically placed into quarantine on Monday afternoon.

The German track has been shut down for three months after a horse tested positive for an equine infection of the blood.

All horses based at Cologne cannot leave the racecourse, including the Peter Schiergen-trained Danedream, a brilliant winner of the Longchamp feature 12 months ago.
