Yep seems to be quite a lot not on VM's version of Anytime. Damn Sky for only ever giving us 70% of the cake while they Murdoch's gobble into the full Victoria:mad:

There's about 400+ films on Sky Anytime website film list.

On our boxes at the moment there seems to be half at most.

There isn't really much method to it either. They're adding stuff randomly. And like this weeks premiers, Rabbit Hole has gone up but the tourist and made in dagenham have not.

On Sky the Sky Premiere movies are waiting on your box on a Friday morning , The Tourist , Made in Dagenham , Rabbit Hole are available in HD. I guess the system will be different on VM.

Re: Sky Anytime

That is Sky Anytime and goes for the same on the web version they run.
Looks like Virgin have rolled out some but by no means as many as Sky Anytime has and also not as recent as mentioned new films get added weekly.
Also removed after several months or a year also.
They have an option of last chance that lists the films that are due to be removed from their service in the next week or 2. I found this handy in case you always thought I want to watch this sometime and then realise it's going in 3 days or whatever.

Sorry this is a bit after the fact, but this is a bit like calling the sun a bit warm! Sky repeats ad neuseum, my bet is they get change from a pound for a day's broadcasting.

I rarely watch the Sky channels but tried Trollied as it's from the same stable as The Royle Family and we like Jane Horrocks. Looking through the EPG I noted that the same episodes were being repeated every night at the same time! Loved the show, but I'd like to know when the next episodes are due.

At the moment I have V+ (TiVO next week) and if I use series link and hit "All" then it would record a pile of repeats. Already a problem on the Sky channels this is riduculous.

It shouldn't V+ works in a similar way to Sky+ , say the new series started on Monday at 9pm if you series link this it should record all episodes every Monday unless the broadcaster switches day. A wishlist for the show when you get TIVO would instantly record it , I'm sure someone on here could advise you on the best way to set it up to avoid repeats if that's possible.

Am I right in thinking that you don't need to download the Anytime programmes at all & they can just be copied straight to your planner?

'New and reruns' is the best option. Tivo won't record the same episode of a show within 28 days of the first recording. If it's a brand new show, never aired before, you can select 'New'. Initially , there was somtimes problems with 'New' option on US shows if they'd aired previously in the US This seems to be fixed now, but 'New and reruns' is still the safest option. I do use 'new' sometimes though, for channels such as Universal, who are constantly showing various seasons of shows like L&O SVU, and all I want is the latest one.

Anytime content is downloaded via satellite to your box overnight and available to play instantly , it is refreshed each day.

I had a peak at the Sky one stuff today and glad to see some US stuff in there now but man is it messed up, Modern Family S3 had episode 2, 7 and 8.

SG1 had a very bizarre listing it went something like 1, 12,13,14,15,17,2,3,4 and even then there seemed to be episodes missing.

The SG1 one looks like a software sorting issue. sorting as if they are characters and not a number.

I've been catching up on Lie To Me season 1 (Sky Anytime > Sky1) but episode 5 is missing. Also, the last episode available is 11 which seems like a strange number of episodes for a US series.

  • Why might one or more episodes be missing?
  • How would I bring it to VM's attention?
These episodes are only available until Wednesday 30th November so I am keen to see any missing ones before they expire.

I should have done my research before posting. I have now verified on IMDb that the following episodes were made:-

  • Season 1: 2009 - 13 episodes
  • Season 2: 2009/2010 - 22 episodes
  • Season 3: 2010/2011 - 13 episodes

So where are season 1 episodes 5, 12 and 13?

Very odd. Just tried it myself and it went though fine - although there is a slight hiccup with the Device detection at the mo (you have to allow all content to be displayed for it to work)

Still no sign of the missing episodes so it doesn't look good for the expiry deadline tonight. :(

Deadline might have been too tight for Sky to send over. I'm not aware of the ticket number, but I'll have a nose around later.

Re: Sky Anytime

If I use the search facility to look for Bones it finds S7:Ep1 in TV Choice OD but if I go directly into Sky Anytime > Sky Living it shows S7:Ep2 also. Wassup?

Re: Sky Anytime

Can anyone tell me how soon after a programme is aired will it turn up on Sky Anytime or any other OD for that matter? The latest episode of Bones was aired last night but I didn't get to see it. When can I expect it to be available to view in On Demand?

All gone now! :(

I may still get to see Ep12 and Ep13 if they are aired this/next week but my wife won't which is a shame as it's yet another series that we have just discovered and both enjoy. From the episode description on IMDb, I have definitely missed Ep5 and I suspect that it wasn't aired with the others and I wonder now if Ep12 and Ep13 will be.

Does this sort of thing happen a lot?

There's loads of stuff missing that should be there on our boxes.

The Tourist and Made in Dagenham to name but 2.

They are on Virgin Media Player and they both premiered weeks ago on Sky so it's not that I haven't given it time, but that there's an issue.

It is becoming a joke now, they've had over a month since launch and the content is still subpar to what is available on Sky itself. It seems like whoever is uploading the content just isn't doing checks as anytime someone points out an individual case Essjay has it sorted.

Now... can I get a job in on demand quality assurance please? :D

Essjay said HD content was coming very soon , That was 6 weeks a go.

Just noticed there is a folder called "Challenge" on Sky Anytime on TV Choice on demand with nothing in it.

Made in Dagenham and The Tourist are both available OD in SD and HD through Sky.

Lie to me Season 1 has now completely been removed off Sky , Bones has Season 7 Episodes 1, 2, 3 on Sky.

Hello cotomulson,

Apologies for the incorrect info earlier, I did a search on the office Tivo and it showed a different time and date but I can see from previous schedules that this has aired before.

But just to clarify that not all content that is shown on the Virgin Media is necessarily shown on the on demand facility.

Here's alink for the schedules for on-demand, you can also check the scheduled for the Virgin Media Player also via the same link.

http://www.virginmedia.com/tvradio/on-demand/

Hope this helps.

So The Tourist and Made in Dagenham will not be on the boxes ?

Have looked at that link not a single movie from Sky Anytime is listed. What a joke.

Diablo, Essjay is very helpful, however our version of Anytime has been a disappointment after a bright start. It's layout is all over the place and advertises stuff that ain't on there:( The lack of sky premier movies is a big letdown.

Yep, not a single one listed. Had a look at that Colette's posts and she doesn't seem to know what she's talking about.

As one would expect on Sky, however the old content on VM's Anytime is removed in a timely fashion but the new content lags behind or, as in the case of three episodes of Lie To Me, never arrives at all.

I've worked in the IT industry for 30 years and I'd be re-booting someone's seating area if a file transfer process was repeatedly failing and no-one was noticing.

Also, what about the point I made about the search facility? It's showing one episode of Bones but there are two available (although there should be three ).
