There's a metre of snow up the Alps already, and driving back through Oxfordshire last night there was a bit coming down, but it was a couple of degrees above freezing, so didn't last. Best skiing trousers on.

Well, in the last 10 minutes it's gotten heavier, it's laid on the wet flags, about 1/2 inch has settled in the last 10 mins, 2 feet here we come :(

heavy clouds here in Cambs but no snow. I expect that we might just about manage 5 flakes before it goes to sleet.

Shame really because my cat goes mad (in a good way) in the snow, she seems to want to try and catch every single flake as it comes down. Last time we had a few flakes, she was bouncing and sliding around the garden for a good 10 minutes.

Do I not, it's only about 8 miles as well, total mayhem, people were just blocking off exits to roundabouts, off ramps the lot. Very bad state of affairs, that must have been about 5 / 6 years back :shrug:

Lots of snow here! Definitely had around 3inches fall overnight, lots more forecast. Think it takes about 2feet til the trams and buses stop running, so no worries :D

Loads of it here, it's been snowing all day. Used the low ratio transfer case on my Jimny for the first time this afternoon, to get back home up the steepest part of the lane. Very smug, everyone else was skidding and spinning all over the shop. :D

Big thunder and lightening storm, followed by hail and now snow which is laying.

Walked to the nearest main road and it looks a nightmare... so I've managed to wangle an emergency holiday. Snowballed a few friends houses, helped one of their kids build a snow dog... think it's brekkie time now. :D

LoL I had to drive out of St. Ives, Huntingdon when we had that last cold snap last February in the snow, luckily the roads were pretty clear as soon as I got out of the back roads, I had to drive around in third gear to get any grip (even from starting)

Oh, what a pity it didn't arrive earlier! A bunch of us stayed in a hut in Crianlarich last w/e. Apparently, Scotland had the best snow in years the w/e before and the ski slopes and the roads were jammed so we took our skis along hoping to do a bit of touring. The weather had other ideas - it rained, and it rained, and it rained - and blew (60mph). On Friday we abandoned all hope of going up any mountains and just stuck to the West Highland Way. The pic shows us paddling along a tarmac bit. It's a long time since I got quite as wet as this. Fortunately, Saturday and Sunday were slightly better and we did manage to tick two Munros - although we were nearly blown off Stob Binnein.
