Is this for the app only, or for Amazon TV to be available at no extra cost?

By that do you mean an extra cost implemented by Virgin, or the normal subscription cost that Amazon charge?

l would say it will be the same type of thing Netflix do on the V6 where one is charged directly on a month by month subscription basis.

Can't see what all the fuss is about then, I mean, you can get those apps on most smart TV's anyway! It would have been really good news if Virgin were to include Amazon, in say, one of the top packages, but to have a discussion about a measly app for the V6 is trivial to say the least.

I cant see an obvious issue with VM adding Amazon. I's effectively the same as Netflix, with different content. Netflix can't have affected VM's TV subscriptions, otherwise it would no longer be there. Amazon, like Netflix, only have a few first run weekly shows; it's mainly back seasons, or shows that have never had a UK pickup. Pay TV is about current shows. OTOH Now TV is competition in that it shows lots of current shows

It's a tricky one tbf with Amazon moving towards a live tv service too.

Included with top package mate but the app will be available for lower packs for the normal prime/video fee.
But if Amazon are moving into live tv too it could become a lot more complex.

Now that would be good.

I seem to remember when Netflix came to VM it was free for the first 6 months. I bet that wouldn't happen with Amazon.

Not whingeing, old chap, just pointing out how VM subscribers could have it all. VM could simply give it all, then we could live it all! (Apologies to Queen!).

As I've said elsewhere, Max, if Amazon was included on the Tivo and V6s, you would have all your search and bookmark facilities on one box. This makes perfect sense to me, and hopefully we will get there before much longer.

you do know sky will have to agree to that don't you OB they own now tv they don't want anyone else at all to have SA it never happen

Not true, Dave. Now TV is available on other platforms. No reason why it shouldn't go on the Virgin platform too, as long as Virgin viewers pay the £6.99 per month for the privilege, why should they care? Talk Talk managed it, so I don't see why VM couldn't if they wanted to.

Face it OB with the packages as they are it's never going to happen, nearly all Virgins packages include the Sky channels with the exception of Sky Atlantic. The only way Sky Atlantic will arrive is when Sky decide it's time to reach a commercial arrangement with VM.
