They already are looking into moving away from Youview apparantly, only seen a couple of rumours on this, i think talktalk may follow suite too.

The Sunday Telegraph says BT has begun discussing a bid to take full control of YouView, allowing it to speed decision-making. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/...ol-of-tv-tech/
Definitely shows that VM needs a great forthcoming TV platform offering.

Do you know things about the new box then, it's a shame in America you can back up to external hard drive

The retail Tivo in the US is being discontinued as most people who want to spend on subscription TV get their PVRs from their cable or satellite companies and those that don't want to pay subscription fees don't want to pay Tivo fees either! I don't think any of the Tivos distributed via cable companies will allow external hard drive functionality as the content providers would charge a lot more for their content if this functionality was permitted.

The problem for BT is that it's hampered by its own network.

BT seems to have the same habit as Sky in that it seems to throw money at things like confetti but the difference is Sky always seem several steps ahead of them at many many levels.

Nothing wrong with investing Sir but throwing good money after bad ain't a good idea in the long run as it catches up with you.

All companies do it mate tbh VM included although vm do seem to be a bit wiser these days, i hope BT do take over Youview at least then it may start to progress.
My concern would be for talktalk who also use Youview unless bt and tt come to a deal.
Meanwhile vm news wise nothing to report as of yet.

I'm sure that VM will finalise pricing nearer to the launch date. Will be interesting to see if BT reacts to Sky Q too.

I think bt issue still is they can't compete directly with sky and virgin due to capacity, bt is better than freeview but still leagues away from the rest. I look forward to pricing but we will need to wait and see if they try £199 like TiVo was when sky is £99 if you have broadband or movies and sports

As far as I remember cable companies want to start using TiVo instead of seperate devices

I do think we are likely to have wifi on TiVo to connect other TiVo. But looking into TiVo models they seems to be down the route like sky q of one box and then steaming content via wifi to other boxes and seems to match rumoured pic and matches colour of superhub

What you think mediaboy

Do you mean a new TiVo anywhere app. Because apps on this box are slow and I don't bother now. When I want catch up I use my smart tv as it is so much quicker and virgin should be pushing some info or allowing yourself to give info as the current TiVo boxes are a waste of time and no longer worth the money
