It's just started slightly snowing after about 36 hours of near constant rain....

Brilliant isn't it - an inch of snow and the country grounds to a standstill...

Still, I hear many teachers had "snow days" lucky them.

Our school wasn't closed due to people not being able to get it, it was all health and safety. It's all well and good parents arguing that kids should be at school no matter of the weather, but what if their child falls over and breaks a bone, you can't win. We have had one member of staff break their wrist in two places, and a local school which was open had numerous injuries.

BTW im not a teacher so i didn't get as much time off, as soon as i could walk to my office without falling over i was in.

It's fairly belting down here now. And Sunday night's lot has only just thawed! Worse, it's falling on top of ground that is frozen hard after days and days of sub-zero temperatures, including -5c last night.

But despite all this, yesterday afternoon (which was bright and sunny, although bitterly cold) I checked the control panel for our solar panels and found them generating about 66c. :spin: It's nice to be able to get free hot water even in the middle of winter ... :D

I bet your house is lovely and warm (as well as beautiful from your photos!) too isn't it?

I can see the mist when I breathe in our flat. :(

Only when the wood-pellet stove is burning constantly! The walls are quite thin and badly in need of insulating work. The solar panels generate lots of hot water for the cylinder, which does make it easier to warm the house because all the stove's heat can go to the radiators.
