And Torres has now asked Liverpool to negotiate the offer with Chelsea. Looks like he's on his way out of Liverpool...

I thought Chelsea were trying to reign in this mega-spending.

The world according to Sky Sports, sources sources etc.

Suppose they have to fill their daily programme with something during a slow transfer window.

£50M is the opening gambit if they're serious btw.

£50mil for a semi-perm injured player is madness. if was fit more than he is and playing as we know he can then fine - but as is, no way.

if Torres is worth 50 million then rooney is by far the best player in the prem this year NOT.

Land of reality?? 22+ million quid for a player who has the potential to be the next Kyut, I hope I am wrong but our game is littered with Dutch based players who were great in the areo division (can't be bothered to look up it's proper spelling) and couldn't step up and I fear this might be another, I also hoped the new management and board would take time over transfers and not rush in imo Charlie Adam would have been a better signing.

Hmm he's not got far to go to reach the heady heights of Dirk's international scoring record then:

Kuyt 17 in 73

Suarez 16 in 38

and he can play reserve team football until summer. He's not going to Chelsea, that's fantasy

oh and as I said, opening gambit is £50M and that's in the summer. Substantially more now at this point.
